Can the DeMarre Carroll Experiment BEGIN!?!

I find it funny when the "youth core" has a bad game, and people claim it's cause they're unmotivated because of incosistant minutes. Please. If Demarre can go out there, and play hard regardless of being a starter, getting DNP'S, getting garbge minutes, or whatever, there's no reason why being unmotivated is an excuse to not give it your all. That's why Demarre's my fav player on the team, even over Burks, Kanter, Favors and Hayward. No matter what Corbin does, he always gives 100% effort. No sense of entitlement and no complaning. There's only a handful of players in the leauge with that attitude ( Millsap used to be one of them)

DeMarre is also four years older than the next oldest young guy. I also don't think I see the other four feeling entitled or complaining. In fact, DeMarre has done more complaining than any of the other four.

I still love the crap out of DeMarre though. I just don't think he's particularly more special when it comes to attitude.

I've only heard one instance of Demarre complaning. Though if you know more than Id gladly take back my statement. I have seen games where I feel the bench as a whole didn't play with maxium effort. But more than anything in my post, I was referring to the idea that everytime one of the 4, has a bad game it's because of frustration with playing time, which is something I've heard expressed in many gamethreads. If there's any truth to that sentiment than it's doing a disservice to a guy like Carroll, who plays hard regardless of what minutes Corbin decides to give him.

When do you see kanter, favors, burks, or hayward not giving effort?..... when have you heard of any of those 4 complain?

Carroll is a bad ***... after the game when they interviewed him, boler suggested that carroll is the leader of the bench unit and demarre responded by saying that he is the junk yard dog and the bench calls itself the "dog pound" and agreed that he is the leader.

What would be a good proper contract for carroll? 3 years 10 million? Is that not enough? Too much? I have no idea what his value is, but he needs to be signed as soon as its possible!

Carroll is so much better than Marv it's not even really close. Why the hell does Williams even play?

I think Marvin may be a better on ball defender against tougher wings than DeMarre but Marvin's shot has been horrible for us.
I even was thought it was wiser to start Gordon/DMC & have Foye/Marvin to come off the bench during the period we were having lousy 1st quarters.

That said, if we do wind up trading Paul, that team better take Marvin's contract as well so we can retain DMC & to extent Mo too!

If Marvin Williams picks up his option I would immediately put him on the trading block.

It was worth a shot but the guy is just not fit in Utah.

Marvin doesn't seem to care. I only watched the last 4min of the Bulls game but in my opinion he lost us that game making lackadaisical plays in crunch time. I watched those couple of minutes of a game we were up in and honestly wondered if a couple players were trying to throw the game.

Anyway, I think Carroll is a great person to have on the bench.

He is a good hustle player and his outside shot has improved. He has definitely earned a place on this team and in this league. I like the spark he gives Utah of the bench and he definitely deserves his 10-15 minutes per game.

Carroll is becoming my favorite Jazz player lately. To bad he won't see that much playing time after Hayward is back.

I really like DeMarre Carroll because he knows his role in the NBA already, he knows for him to earn time on the court is first on the defensive end and also knows and doesn't care if plays aren't called for him directly to get baskets. DeMarre is a terrific hustle player and knows he is a journeyman and has developed a nice outside shot where you don't cringe when he shoots it. DeMarre accepts his nicname the junkyard dog, and knows he isn't a star play but a key player on a championship team because he is willing to come off the bench or start and do the dirty work. Plus, DeMarre isn't going to demand a high salary but I see him in the role of a Bruce Bowen, Rick Fox, and Thabo Sefolosha type player.
