Punch Bowl Re-Filler
Seems there have been two hot rumors of late:

Millsap for Bledsoe (and TBD to make salaries work)
Jefferson for Splitter and Mills

Assuming the Jazz would do only ONE,

A) Which deal would you make if you were Kevin O'Lindsey.
B) Which one deal makes the Jazz a better team this season

Please make two selections in the poll.

This is a bit of a tricky question. I don't think the Jazz will pull the trigger on both deals. In fact, I think KOC doesn't have the cajones to do either deal. The Jazz are less risk averse than an agoraphobic. I'd rather see Jefferson traded because I hate the lack of ball movement when he's in the game. The Jazz played outstanding team ball when Big Al was hurt. But I think the Millsap deal helps the team more by shoring up their weakest position. IMO, Bledsoe could.should eventually start, pushing Tinsley to 2nd string. Of course, that won't happen. Remember last season, Corbin told Watson he could be the starter when Deron was traded. It was Earl who actually told TY he would be the backup to Devin.

I do

I would really like to cash them in. A cheap 3rd big in Gortat, a stretch 4 in Fry, an additional asset Morris, Dudley who is really a bigger Foye or could swap out Dudley with Wes Johnson and keep the cap space , and Bledsoe to be the pg of the future. While still having enough cap space to gain a few more assets next year.

Lame my link didnt work.

Clippers get Millsap, Bell, Carrol
Suns get Jefferson, Butler, Thompson, Evans
Jazz get Gortat, Morris, Bledsoe, Fry, and either Dudley or Johnson

There is a better chance of hell freezing over than the Clippers doing that deal.

I would hope the Jazz would cash in on both deals and maybe even get a pick from SA in that deal. It's a low 1st pick anyway.
.
But If I have to choose I take Bledsoe and run.

Jefferson for Splitter and Mills, definitely. Splitter is a monster with a high FG%, can rebound, play defense, and doesn't commit lots of stupid fouls. Mills plays good defense and can hit the three. And having Mills, Splitter and Favors would be awesome.

Trade for Bledsoe.

He has that dribble/drive, penetration game that we as a team as a WHOLE currently lacks. Even KOC stressed the importance of being able to do that in today's game when he drafted Burks. Bledsoe's young, athletic, and just has the right combination of size, athleticism, speed and power. Plus, he's been shooting the 3's pretty good this year. He still needs to learn to run a team, granted, so Tinsley & Watson can help him to do that.

Bottom line is, he's just too exciting a player to pass up. And for an expiring Millsap? It's a no-brainer.

Jefferson for anybody because Millsap for anybody = Al long-term.

Where's the "both" option?

If I have to pick one, Jefferson for Splitter, because I'd rather keep Millsap over Jeffy if one of them has to be re-signed.

Let see, the OP said "Assuming the Jazz would do only ONE..."

Sorry, Cy, I forgot about checking the "make public" option.

That was kind of my thinking. The Millsap deal brings over a better player, but I'd like to see how this team does WITHOUT Jefferson. The offensive dynamics are completely different and the team improves defensively.

Wouldn't you say though that Big Al epitomises the Jazz org. as a whole? Takes high % shots. Takes no risks. Slow to react. Patience (letting the clock run down to 5 seconds left before passing), etc, etc.

Any trade involving Al makes the most impact on the team and it really doesn't matter what's coming back.
