Hayward
18.8 Points, 4.1 Reb, 3.3 Assists.

Favors Per 36 numbers: 15.3 Points, 10.3 Reb, 2.3 Blocks

Kanter Per 36 numbers: 16.1 Points, 10.2 Reb, 1.1 blocks

Burks Per 36 numbers: 13.9 Points, 4.7 Reb, 3.1 Assists.

Will the production continue if the players are actually given minutes?

I think it is safe to say that our young players are not done growing. I think that each of Favors, Kanter and Hayward can improve on their games by about 15% from where they are now, and that Burks can improve about 25% from where he is now. This is not too optimistic of a projection. The reason that I think they will be able to have this rate in growth is because they are hopefully going to be featured on the team very soon. I think Favors and Hayward will be the focal points next year, and Kanter and Burks will follow them in the year or two after.

So what can we expect per minute given the 15% growth from our C4? (25% growth from Burks)

Hayward: 21.6 PPG, 4.7 RPG, 3.8 APG

Favors: 17.6 PPG, 11.8 RPG, 2.6 BPG

Kanter: 18.5 PPG, 11.7 RPG, 1.3 BPG

Burks: 17.4 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 4 APG

Those are outstanding numbers from each player, and all four could be borderline all stars every year if they put up those numbers. Is it realistic? I think so, but probably for three of them max, there are not enough touches in the game for four players of that caliber. But our team would dominate if they reach the potential.

What do you guys think? Can any of this happen?

When was the last time a team had 4 players average above 17 ppg? Has that ever happened? Has 15 ever happened?

Dunno. But it would be awesome. I remember in the early d will days, the jazz had five averaging over ten ppg at one point. Three of them were averaging over 15 if I remember right.

Searched the Piston's 00's teams because that was the only one I could think of having a chance off the top of my head. Came really close 2 years to having 4 above 15, but never did it.

Honestly those pistons teams are pretty close to what I see the ceiling of this team being. That is pretty ambitious, but I really think it could happen if it is managed right. Maybe the current four won't turn out to all be awesome, but we still have the chance to add o e or two players via trade, free agency or our two draft picks this year. We will definitely need demarre Carroll type players to fill out the team if/when we start giving the you g guns the reigns

Yeah the core 4 aren't improving by 15% PLUS the linear projection with the per 36 minute stat. That's just too much.

They were all vets when they won though. I don't think a young team can win like this (though that would be crazy). Will we be able to keep the C4 around long enough for them to mature together?

Also the year the Pistons won the finals they averaged 90 ppg and held opponents to 84 ppg. That defensive number is insane, though it is important to note that the Eastern conference during this time was EXTREMELY weak. The point is, I think the only way you can win with the "No Stars" approach is having a top 5 defense.

Another interesting link between Pistons then/Jazz now is that they both had a raw Euro big man developing while trying to win. Obviously the Pistons were an actual contender, not a pretender, but interesting to note that they utterly failed in developing Darko with a crowded front-court. The Jazz are doing a much better job at developing Kanter.

We also have a future HOF coach at the head, just like the Pistons... Oh wait...

Who's our Rashweed?

Who is our clutch PG?

Kanter will be our rasheed, but a better rebounder.

As far as point guard...... burks?.... burke?.... burkes?

Yeah, players have to develop. You put Sheed, Billups, Prince, Wallace, and Hamilton together for their rookie contract and they aren't winning a championship either. Billups had scrub-like stats his 1st 4 years.

Guys have to develop into those players.

So who's our Rip?

Prince?

As I remember, they had an awesome backup PG. Our PGs suck.

And Larry Brown's chair coached better than our own coach.

Our guys are still VERY young. We also don't need to be a carbon copy of that team, the idea is that they had a bunch of very good players, and not really a superstar

I think these numbers might be a little high. I'm glad Cy brought up the point about 4 players over 17ppg.

This is what I see:

Hayward: 20 PPG, 4 RPG, 5 APG

Favors: 14 PPG, 11 RPG, 2.5 BPG

Kanter: 18 PPG, 12 RPG, 2.5 APG

Burks: 19 PPG, 6 RPG, 3 APG

I think some of those numbers might be a little high. A lot of these numbers will fluctuate based on this upcoming draft.

Oh.

Ok. So lets wait 10+ years for this team to actually compete for a championship? Maybe we should start rebuilding/developing these guys? Maybe work towards that championship?

All the more reason why we should have traded away Millsap/Jefferson. And why the hell are we still starting the old farts at point?
