Following potential 2013 draftees

Played Lottery Mock Draft on Espn for the first time. The jazz aren't there (yet), but it was interesting to see where some of the players we talk about were coming in.

IN my version Toronto won and selected Marcus Smart #1--that would shock me. Mr. Porter would be gone #5.

With the current slide this is what the Jazz could be looking at:

DX
16- Trey Burke
20- BJ Young

NBADraft.net
16- Kelly Olynyk
20- Doug McDermott

Thoughts?

I've said this all along, and I'll say it again:

I'll be very happy with Burke at #16 and Glen Robinson III at around #19-#21.

Both picks fills our needs as well as both picks being BPA at their respective draft positions. You're also going with a safe pick in Burke and someone with tremendous upside with GRIII. So from a portfolio & future investment standpoint, you're covered.

I did it and the Suns' 14th pick moved up to #1. So, if we get the 14th pick, there's hope to move up after all. :)

Moving up would be my top choice. Package our late-lotto and high-teens pick and move up to the #8-#10 range. Get an impact guy, if we think he's there. The NBA draft is about quality, not quantity.

Sidenote: I'm really excited to watch Xavier/Butler this weekend. I wonder if Semaj Christon will test the waters in this year's NBA draft. The kid can really play...

I think the talent from #8 - #18 this year is pretty even ... I wouldn't move up this year.

Unless I can get into top 5.

If we packaged our picks, what's the highest we could move up?

If a suitor, I'd say around 10/11.

I don't think there's a limit, unless it's something I haven't read in the new CBA.

You have to find a willing team to get move up. Nowadays it is difficult to find a team to do so.

Agree, but should be easier when this draft have more parity between 5 and 20 than usual.

0% chance Smart goes 1 .. or 2 .. 3.

I imagine it would be easier to move up in a weak draft.

Yes .. or one with parity, as mentioned above.

Who would you take at 5? Porter?

Well ESPN Lotto machine currently has:

McClemore
Smart
Noel
Porter
Shabazz

in that order. Depending on who's picking where, I think all those 5 guys are interchangeable at the moment. No consensus #1, the talent seems pretty flat at the top this year.

ESPN are retards. They are the worst source. That list is beyond terrible.

Hahahaha...

I think the lotto machine takes into account who's picking where as well. The Cats are currently picking first and I think they're looking for a wing scorer so McClemore goes first. Then the Kings already have Cousins, but lacking PG, so Smart goes second. Wolves are currently third, so they take Noel.
