What's new

If the Jazz Re-Signed Jefferson to a 4 year deal, how would you respond?

I'd hope for Donald Sterling to sell the Clipps to another LA-based ownership (one that hopefully doesn't suck as bad as himself and Greggie). Then, hope they keep CP3 and sign Millsap.

I'd certainly still follow the jazz, and I'll always consider them my favorite team, but there's no doubt I'd watch and care a lot less. A lot.

Typical response:

"I'll stop following the Jazz. I won't go to or watch any more games". Then the poster will be on JazzFanz bashing Al during and after every game, which they indeed watched.

I've pretty much stopped watching. In the past two and a half months I have watched the last 5min of a game twice, watched a game mostly on ffw once, and three times or so I've stopped in to check a score before channel flipping to something more interesting like a scrubs rerun or something.

The Jazz are the only team I want to win. I will always root for them, but I've already stopped watching them.

I'll talk you out of it pal.

I would join the 33% of Utahns who are Laker's fanzz

When I watched the replay of Kobe getting injured I was confused at first because I could see all the guys in Lakers gear getting upset but I could see the floor was in Atlanta.

I despise the NBA TV ratings culture that has empowers certain teams and creates the bandwagon fans.

If they re-sign Al I will have lost hope in this franchise and our new GM and would only watch and attend on occasion until something significant happened. I watch the Jazz because it is entertaining and I am a big fan and this is the best show in Utah imo. Alfense is the antithesis of interesting, so I would have to cut back.

If Lindsey can say what he said about not wanting to cement this team as a mid 40s win team, and then he goes and re-signs Al, I will conclude that he is a moron.

However, I don't think he is a moron, frankly I think he gets it, and I don't think they will re-sign Al.

Probably the same as now. I watch when it's convienient and generally do something else when watching. But pay closer attention to the game when Al, Mo, Millsap and Foye are out.

Just curious what everyone thinks their reaction would be. Personally, I would still be a Jazz fan but my enthusiasm for Jazz basketball would take a big hit. I like Jefferson as a person and teamate and i have said that a lot, but i get that you can't be a top team in the league if you are paying him 14 mill a year and he is your number one guy. you just can't. If they re-sign him, I will be dissappointed, lose faith in the FO, not look forward to Jazz basketball as much, accept the Jazz are a 37-43 win team for the next four years, and likely not watch as many games (as of right now, I watch every game i can)

A massive, massive hit. The only thing that would save it, maybe, is if he went to the bench and became a great 6th man type.

Probably do what I do now. I barely pay attention to the vet starters. Watch a little more when a good line up is in. Go back to barely caring at the start of the third. Then watch from the end of the third to the end.

Or I will TVO the game and wait til an hour and half after its been on, then fast forward through all the commercials, halftime, freethrows and vets playing. Just watch the watchable stuff. Instead of wasting three hours.

And also continue not going to games.

well define stop watching.

i have followed jazz game from beggining to end almost every game every year.
now i justt put on the tv and do other stuff.
jazz has become bakcground noise.

i consider that stop watching.
when i hear excitment i look at the tv.
then jeffysuck comes in and my interest goes out the window.
this is the way it has been the last 30 games.
eventually if this goes on for 4 years by year 2 i will just forgot to turn on the tv

I'd be extremely pissed. I'd probably catch a Jazz game here and there, but it would no longer be high on my priorities.

Initial Response: Disappointment
Soon After: Laughter
Checking Jazzfanz: More Laughter
Soon After: Depression

I used to wake up around 4 a.m. and watch games. I seldom do that anymore. If the Jazz sign Bi Gal, I will just let my sweet farty dreams continue until 7 a.m.
