Which team?

Which of these eight teams will Al Jefferson sign with next season and obliterate from the inside out? (or possibly thrive with?)

The Teams

With nearly $48,000,000 coming off the bo(aww ****, my 0 key literally just popped off my laptop..)oks next season, Atlanta will be able to sign Al to a very undeserved and overpaid contract which Hawks fans will hate. Al J. would play C while Al H. would move down to the PF position.

Would Al return to the C's after six long years? The C's don't have any room to work with to sign Al but with Garnett leaving in a couple years the Celtics are going to have to sign a big man and Al might be the guy to fill in. Would he sign a small short term contract and get a raise once Kevin leaves?

The putty tats suck. Would Jefferson even consider signing with them? They have the cap space but... Even I don't hate Al that much. Biyombo would slide down to the PF and Big Al would obviously play the C while also possibly mentoring whichever center Charlotte drafts.

The Mavs may not re-sign Kaman next season and could go after what they think is an elite center who will pass it out to Nowitzki and give them another shot at the title. Poor poor Dallas, they have no idea what they'd be getting themselves into...

They wasted an entire season with Bynum and he isn't likely to be back. With all the money save by not re-signing him they can sign Jefferson and think they got a center they desperately needed. But in the end, they'll regret it. I'd be willing to bet that if the 76ers sign Al, their record next season will be even worse than the record they end this season with.

During the trade season the Spurs showed interest in Jefferson. Will they go after him this off-season? No doubt Jefferson will be the demise of the Spurs and kill any chances they had of a playoff run next season. Or maybe Coach Pop can be able to fix Jefferson and the Spurs will become the most dominant team in the league.

When the SuperSonics arrive back in Seattle, will Jefferson be with them? DeMarcus Cousins is a major knucklehead and would definitely benefit from veteran leadership and mentoring from big Al. They have enough cap space and there's really no way he could make them worse. If anything, I'd say he would make them better.

Bargnani BLOWS. If Toronto can pull off a trade during the off-season then maybe they'll try and sign Al. For the Raptors, Al really can't be worse for the team than Bargnani is. This signing, like the Spurs and SuperSonics, can be a good one. The only thing standing in the way is whether or not they can get rid of Bargnani

So there you go, please share your thoughts and opinions! This is the first real, big thread I've made and I hope it's successful. >_<

Oh, and check out this sweet captcha I got when I uploaded the Hawks picture.

I'll rep the first person to post where this came from.

For me, I think he'll sign with San Antonio. Like I said, they showed interest during the trade season, they'll have the money, and they're a playoff contender. I can't see why (if offered) Al would turn down the opportunity.

76ers.

Bynum is a big headache for them right now + they need to win in that market.

They'll let Bynum walk or do a S&T, then they'll sign Big Al.

Utah Jazz if he stays for a veteran contract which he won't. Utah's deep front court need a good back court with Houston-like perimeter threat so that Al Jefferson and the other big men can benefit from their dominance over the most of the league's team's front court players.

Trade options as sorted from most likely to less to me includes 3 teams selected from the OP;

1)76ers
2)Seattle
3)Raptors

Derrick and Enes can thrust their way around usually against the defense, but Big Al is not like them so a better 3 point threat team would be a great place for him to end his prime years and step into the veteran zone.

I just hope that it is someone in the east because I don't want a western conference team getting a high pick due to Jefferson being on their team.

I'd Iike to see Al go to San Antonio to see what Popovich could do with him if anything.
On the plus side if Al is going to screwup a team it may as well be the Spurs, they are due for a few losing years.

....the Spurs are way too smart to sign Jefferson.....not even to a 10 day contract! He's not the Spurs type player nor does he play there style which involves a lot of ball movement.

Atl. They have wanted to move Horford to the pf, they don't get top fa's and are about to lose Smith. Just like the Jazz, the Hawks can sell their fans on the idea that Al is a scoring big who rebounds and blocks shots. Plus, I think Atl will appeal to Al. Laid back, southern, closer to home, no pressure to achieve.

Maybe Dallas might, if they strike out everywhere else. But Al next to Dirk would be a disaster. And Cuban's bluntness and Rick Carlises toughness would make Al cry.

Oh please. If the Spurs had a chance at Big Al, they would most definitely pull the trigger.
Think about the so-called "black hole" passing it out of double teams to almost every player on the floor that can nail 3 pointers.

whoever signs him will end up paying him a lot less than what he's getting now. I don't think he gets 8 figures.
