Kirelenko in Trade talks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And while most of you were throwing a retard party when Memo got extended, I knew THE SECOND I found out it was going to a tremendous headache with franchise-shaking potential.

Boris Diaw. You have got to be ****ing kidding me. The Jazz could've had AK off the books years ago, and they for the first time appear willing to dump him -as a ****ing EXPIRING - to save... what, a few million over two years? Wow. Well-played. Check-mate.

From Wikipedia...

This is best seen in the 2005–06 season, during which Diaw started as a bench player, then convincingly subbed as a point guard when starting playmaker Steve Nash (that season's MVP) was injured, then started as a small forward and was finally moved to center when all three Suns pivots got injured, posting impressive stats of 18.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists in the playoffs despite playing out of position.

He could potentially come off the bench for us to fill in at the Center position as well if required...........

We could always cite AK's stats from 03/04 through 05/06...Diaw got fat and apathetic. 05/06 was a long time ago.

Also, AK could fill in at the 5 if need be (taller/longer than Diaw, much better help side defender as well).

All the boo-hooing in this thread is hilarious. We have heard a RUMOR about PART of a POSSIBLE trade that would require Melo to sell his soul to the Nets, one of the worst teams in the NBA who barely got better in the off-season. Not saying it won't happen. Just saying.

If Diaw was in his final year as well, this would be a brilliant trade from a financial point of view. With that extra year on there, I don't like this trade as-is.

A rumor that has been substantiated by about 25 different people. The talks are happening, plus, there's not a whole **** of a lot else Jazz related to talk about. Move along.

Garbage. Compare them at the 3, consider that AK knows the system. The only thing Diaw has on AK is shooting, and even then he's not good enough for the 3. This would be a HUGE loss.

No it doesn't make sense to compare them at the 3. Diaw mainly plays the 4 and the Jazz would obviously make this move to open up more playing time for CJ and Hayward.

This is the first time I've seen AK's name mentioned in a legitimate rumor where the Jazz weren't saying "no" to a pitch (Shawn Marion, Vince Carter, McGrady's expiring). This is pretty ****ing serious and legitimate.

And in case my history with AK is unknown, I could be described by many as a hater. That's how bad this trade is.

So we're trading away AK to pay $9mil for 15 minutes of Diaw (and 0 when Memo's back)? Even better.

I know. All the crying about taking back a player with two years on his contract is ridiculous. People who are complaining about a rumor suck.

This trade seems to straight up depend on Melo committing to a deal to NJ. I dont know if he will, so it might not even really matter.

AK for Diaw...

I dont know, im on the edge. It makes money sense, and i dont see us getting any worse. But it gets Melo out of our division, sooner. But I dont really think it makes much of a difference. If you think about it, Melo out of Denver means more wins for other teams in the West so its really too hard to predict.

Im getting that

(a) Utah feels Hayward can have an immediate impact.
(b) Jefferson might be getting more playtime at center than we expect
(c) Diaw will be backing up Millsap

But when Memo comes back this creates a huge logjam.
