I think an admin should have PMd a stern letter to Cy with defined repercussions (even if they are inconsistent with board rules). Put him on notice and let him decide his outcome.

I do however have a problem with him manipulating the system to bring down two consecutive negs on me.

I don't normally reply to posters who call me Hitler, but to clarify this point--admins have no limits (time or otherwise) on who/when they can pos or neg rep. I didn't manipulate anything, that's just how the board software works. I couldn't give myself a limit even if I wanted to.

Hmm. My approach was exactly what you described as being "the professional approach".

By reacting in the same manner you were condemning.. seemed more personal than in a role as an admin.
I'm not pulling a HH here.. I'm simply calling it as I see it. I was an extreme voice of reason throughout the day. Even when I called out Cy he was big about it and agreed things could have been handled better. I'm not being judgemental .. just being honest.

You may be right in that Colton could have handled it differently. But I stand by his principle in taking a complaint (from whoever it may be) seriously, investigating it thoroughly, and at least has the guts to do something about it. Could it have been handled differently? May be. But I don't think you can fault the principles behind what he had done.
