Kirelenko in Trade talks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we are not getting some draft picks out of this I don't see how we benefit enough on the court. There are some financial benefits but I hope that isn't enough.

I agree with your comments. Diaw's contract actually hurts us more than helps us imo. Sure we'd fall below the luxury tax this year or would be extremely close which is obviously important to the Millers. From a purely financial perspective, they'd be better off. But would we be a better team on the court? No way in hell. We'd also be locked into this numbnut's contract next year so any outside shot we would have of going after a decent free agent next summer would go out the window, barring some trade of say Millsap. This makes no sense to me.

Melo doesn't want to sign an extention unless it's the Knicks. So, the deal looks like it's dead unless Melo agrees to the extention.

I was actually surprised Melo was so adamant about leaving Denver, but was willing to go to by far the worst team in the League. And not just that, but that team is also losing Harris and draft picks. Sure, Melo is an upgrade over Harris, but this was the worst team in the League, which did not really improve this summer at all. Seems like a poor decision on Melo's part, and looks like he now recognized it. What I don't get though is why Denver likes Nets offer so much more than the one from NY, who is offering Gallinari and Randolph. Gallinari seems like a far better prospect than Favors. He is just 22, and already had 15 and 5 year last year. Randolph got nearly 12 and 7 in just 23 mins last year, plus a couple of blocks to boot, and he is just 21. That seems much better than Favors plus a year loan of fading AK47.

Throwing around some trade ideas around

Jazz get: Anderson Varejao & Anthony Parker
Nuggets get: AK & Noah
Bulls get: Melo & Birdman
Cavs get: Luol Deng

I know Bulls said they wouldn't trade Noah for Melo but adding in Birdman I would think would help since they would still have a presence next to Boozer on defense.

It saves a lot of money still but gives us more talent.

D-Will - Watson - Price
Bell - Parker - Thompson
Miles - Hayward - Evans
Millsap - Varejao - Elson
Jefferson - Varejao - Elson - Okur

After trade team offers Fesenko a 2 Million a year deal and we let him go.

OR

Jazz get: Kirk Hinrich
Nuggets get: AK & Noah
Bulls get: Melo & Birdman
Wizards get: Luol Deng

Save as much as the Diaw trade.

D-Will - Hinrich - Watson
Bell - Hinrich - Thompson
Miles - Hayward - Evans
Millsap - Elson
Jefferson - Fesenko - Okur

Where are you digging up enough CBA flexibility to go after anyone next offseason? The Jazz are stuck at any likely salary cap after this season with nothing more than AK's birdrights.

I'm not saying we'd have a ton of flexibility. But we'd have some. If we get Diaw, we have none and probably would end up trying to trade him or Millsap just to be able to (re-)sign guys to fill out the roster.

What's wrong with bringing in Diaw for a trial year? If he doesn't work out we can deal him, if he fits with the team we keep him for 1 more year.

Huh? The most likely scenario to this point is Ivan Drago for the Stay-Puf Marshmellow Monsieur (he's French).

Quite a difference.

My point was Jazzfanzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz like to bitch about small things.

Ivan Drago sucked btw. He was chemically enhanced to be a killer. Stay-Puf Marshellow Monsier could probably give a "clean" Ivan Drago a run for his money for about 9 million less.

We should trade AK and get some sour cream and onion chips with some dip, man, some beef jerky, some peanut butter. Get some Häagen-Dazs ice cream bars, a whole lot, make sure chocolate, gotta have chocolate, man. Some popcorn, red popcorn, graham crackers, graham crackers with marshmallows, the little marshmallows and little chocolate bars and we can make s'mores, man. Also, celery, grape jelly, Cap'n Crunch with the little Crunch berries, pizzas. We need two big pizzas, man, everything on 'em, with water, whole lotta water, and Funyons. Oh and get me a box of condoms, and, what was that thing we used to eat back in the day? What was it... oh yeah, pussycat!
