Teams always have several extra guys in for training camp. Historically, the Jazz have had around 18, even in years when few or no roster spots are available. Occasionally there's a surprise - like a Matthews making the team over a more seasoned vet. Teams also want to get a look at players who might be signed later in case of injuries.
I suspect the Jazz may go with 14 or even 15 players until January, when non-guaranteed contracts become guaranteed for the remainder of the season. Gaines and Jeffers probably don't make the team (Watson > Gaines and Evans > Jeffers). But if Nichols or Thompson impressed, maybe the Jazz would try to keep one of them.
Barring an AK trade and assuming Fes signs his QO tomorrow:
PG - Deron, Watson, Price
SG - Bell, CJ
SF - AK, Hayward, Evans
PF - Millsap
C - Jefferson, Elson, Fesenko, Okur
So that's the 13-man roster, with Thompson, Jeffers and Nichols perhaps fighting for a 14th spot. Gaines, I think, is gone, as there's no reason to have 4 PG's.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jazz bring in a PF if the AK deal doesn't go through. Until Okur returns, I want to see AJ play all his minutes at the 5. I guess AK could back up Millsap. But Fes/Elson should only get 10-15 mins/per MAX.

i am talking about them signing. Why sign them to contracts if they are just bringing them as extra. They could see them as a fit for the team and better then what they had before. They could be doing it because jeffers and gains are not working out. I am just more wanting the season to start more then anything. I do think ak is gone soon though.

Most people won't work for free.
They have to sign them to a contract in order for them to come to training camp. Its like you going to work for training and them saying your not really an employee were just going to work you, not pay you and see if you can do the job. Doesn't work that way. They sign a non guerenteed contract that pays them for training camp, and has the option to become a fully paid contract if they make the team.

true. I never pay attention to the roster at the start of the season but this year we have so many new players it is different. But that is right that most people wont work for free. Not sure how that all goes.

You have a grudge on me from other post so i could care less about putting a pic up to appease people like you. Esp someone that has that kind of pic. I come on this site to get info and hear all the inside stories around not to listen to people that like drama. Sounds like you have a personal problem of not getting enough action if you ask me.
