Good Chance Burks Will be Traded This Summer

Chad Ford said two or three days ago that all the GMs and Scouts are saying Burke is a high lottery pick. they are virtually all saying he is the real deal. If he impresses enough, I think the Jazz give up what they have to so they can get him.

Burke is good. But if we're trading Burks + draft pick to get him, I'd rather do it for Bledsoe who has shown he can score against NBA players.

I would say that there is no chance that Burks gets traded this offseason. There is no way that our FO is going to trade a guy that has proven he can be productive in the NBA and is still on his rookie deal for a guy that has never played an NBA game. If we don't get a PG this year in the draft we well sign a vet or Mo for a couple of years and shoot for one in the 14 draft.

The only way I see Burks getting traded this offseason is if he demands a trade. Even then knowing our FO it wont happen

This makes sense, but I think Lindsey and KOC might opt for Burke because we need a guy that can run a team. I'm not sure Bledsoe has shown that, but maybe he has. I think at best, Burke could be a 14 ppg 10 assist guy. If you look at Chris Paul's college stats and compare them to Burke's, they are almost identical with a small edge going to Paul. I think the Front office is much more interested in a PG that can run a system well. Burke fits better becasue he can shoot better and he doesn't turn the ball over, but maybe if Haywards play making abilities improve, it might make sense to trade for beldsoe.

Like I said before, if there is a PG in the draft that impresses KOC and Lindsey, there is a good chance we do what we can to land him... we need a PG more than we need a SG.

Yes I know their college stats are very similar. The difference is Chris Paul is much quicker, gets to the rim at will using his quickness. He's also very good at getting separation to make that jump shot. Burke is still a step behind in those aspects IMO.

Given the choice I'd still go with Bledsoe though.. that ability to go off the dribble and score is invaluable in this league, more so given that we already have a ball handler in Hayward.

Really? I have noticed that on Jazzfanz, Virtually everyone is super protective of Ale[x] Burks... this amuses me ha. seriously though, I think there is a good chance Burks will make a jump next season and be pretty good, but I also think Trey Burke is going to be Chris Paul-lite. That is pretty good for a PG, especially when you consider that Chris Paul is the 2nd or 3rd best player in the league. We need a guy that can run the offense and be a leader at the PG. A guy that knows how to win. What treyb Burke has done with Michigan this season is no small feat. he is the cog that makes it all work and I think he will be pretty fabulous as a PG in the NBA.

you really think that Try Burke is basically going to be Isaiah Thomas? If that is the case, then we better get him locked up. Draft him and get him on a 25 year contract. However though, three lottery picks is a lot even for Chris Paul lite (Isaiah Thomas). Especially if one of those lottery picks is John Stockton or Karl Malone... both picked later in the draft.

ha. Okay so, i'm not so sure about that becasue i think like 65%of guys drafted 12 through 20 are out of the league within 5 years. and the GSW pick will not be a lottery pick. and in reference to it being a lot even for Chris Paul, If you have Chris Paul on your team, you win around 50 games every year pretty much (Granted there are only 3 guys in the NBA where that is the reality: LeBron, Durrant, and Paul.) We need a PG. Bledsoe could be the option like Hottnick said, but personally i think KOC and Lindsey would opt for Burke-- he's more of a JAzz mold PG, I think. and yes, 25 years sounds good. if that's what it takes. :o

I would be VERY surprised if the jazz do this. Burke COULD BE a player....but he carries the dreaded label of "undersized". Alec has shown that he can play in this league...and he can play two positions. I think that Burks and both of the draft picks is too much to give up for anyone in this year's draft. I could easily see them bundling both of their picks in order to move up and secure Burke, And I would be okay with that. But what you are suggesting, I believe is just too much.

You may be right, but if Burke moves high enough on the Big Board, it could happen. And as far as being undersized goes, you can get by being an undersized PG more than the other positions. Ty Lawson is shorter than Burke and he is fabulous.

Bingo! And I am not 100% sold on Burke. The two games I have seen him under pressure, he played like @$$. I need to see more of him when the pressure is on. But so far i don't like that trade at all.

If Trey Burke ends up being anything less than a top ten PG in the League, I will change my name and Avatar from Batman to Barbie.

Hehehe.. I like your Bravado bro.. He'll have to beat out the following players though which would be quite a task:

Chris Paul
Deron Williams
Derick Rose
Kyrie
Tony Parker
Lillard
Russel Westbrook
Rondo
John Wall
Stephen Curry

can you change your name on this site? I would like to do that, but can't figure out how.

I should have specified a time table. Give him 3 years and he'll get there.

Hottnick apprised me yesterday that it is possible, though i am not sure how exactly.

Apparently you have to send your request to one of the mods/admin. It's what I've heard too, haven't actually tried it. I should though, I'm sick of this name as well. Nick's not even my REAL name!!

LOL.. go figure...

One day, you will recognize the prudence of my posting.

Maybe so.

I just don't think Burks plus two first mid rounders will land us Burke if he is sky rocketing in this weak draft.

It's also taking a big leap that Burks plus two teen first round picks won't > than Burke. That is a fair argument.

I don't think Burke is a sure thing. You are sold, and maybe correct. You better be if we actually give up 3 teen first
round picks for the guy. He'd really have to end up an all-star for the trade to be worth it. (and Burks, and the other
picks not having very good careers)
