This draft doesn't have a lot of top-tier talent, but it has lots of second-tier guys and plenty of bigs whose stock will rise. Burke will go around 12 or so. We shouldn't sell the farm to get him (i.e. don't even give Burks), but we should try pretty damn hard.
I said this earlier, but ESPN's Chad Ford says all the Gm's and scouts he has talked to have Trey Burke as a high lottery pick.
I'm sure the scouts are pouring their ****ing hearts out. I'm sure they're being totally honest too. ****, why do we even have the darft?
I don't like undersized PG's.
honestly if Burks was in this draft he would get drafted ahead of Burke. So that means there is no reason to give up to draft picks in addition to burks. If a team needs a 2 guard i think the Jazz, in this draft, trade burks for the pick straight up. If they have a strategy to get another 2 guard then i would do it. Say a Burke, GRIII and saric draft with the idea that GRIII is going to play the 2 or even switch Saric for a 3rd big.
Ty Lawson? Chris Paul?
Consider this: The Jazz system has always needed a good PG to be successful. Our best years have always been centered around PG play. If Trey Burke impresses KOC and Lindsey this Summer, I am pretty positive the Jazz will make a run at getting Him on draft day. Look for the Jazz to trade Alec Burks and their two draft picks just to get him. I honestly think there is a super strong possibility that this will happen... it makes too much sense not to happen. If there are any lottery teams willing to tango, the deal will get done. The Front office knows we need a PG and if Trey Burke or even Smart impress them enough, the deal will get done. I think Trey Burke is the guy they will be targeting. Don't be suprised if it happens. I'm calling it. We'll trade our 13th or 14th pick, The GSW pick and Alec Burks to get it done. Frankly, as much as i like Burks, I like the idea of landing Burke even more. Next season, we'll likely have a new Core Four and that isn't a bad thing, seeing that Trey Burke looks as poised and ready to lead an NBA team as any college PG i have seen in quite some time.
Considering Burke will probably measure at 5'11" at the workouts, he might be available in the late lottery. If Utah is giving up Burks and two first rounders for a PG, they better be getting Marcus Smart (and this is coming from a Michigan Alum).
I wouldn't say CP3 is undersized!!!
It certainly seems like you don't value Burks too much. There is no way that Burke is worth Burks by himself let alone throwing in 2 first round picks.
