The Official "Ask A Mormon" Thread

Question for ya swordsman...

I know your active in you belief and that you are also I believe a Pre-med student...

So do you believe in evolution and if so how do you fit it in your Belief???

Hey! This thread isn't "Ask a Muslim"! Stick with the program.

You all worked out something that works for you and I can respect that. As for me I have already told my wife that if something happens to me she can remarry as I want her to be happy. I will see her again and she does not need to put her life on hold until than. Life is to short and precious for that.
I was not part of the negotiations.

Hey Mormons.

Why are Mormon girls more attractive than those of nearly every other religious denomination?

What is the secret?

This is a true and valid question.

Righteous living.

No, really, I have no idea. I do know that in high school we used to go down to Provo and cruise the campus some weekends, because the girls were generally better looking than those that hung out on State St.

Ya don't even get me started on pre-existence.

Of all monotheistic faiths, Mormons are the only one's that i am aware of that believe in a pre-existence. What is really interesting, Is that I think Proverbs 8 pretty much proves that there was a pre-existence, at least in the King James Version. Read Proverbs 8 and you'll have to conclude that the LDS faith is true.

22-The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

Except for the fact that we can't explain how the human brain got 4 times bigger in such a short period of time, or at least that is what i heard on the history channel

The same history channel that treats the Bible as history?

Our brain grew over several million years. It's not hard to explain at all.

yeah, the history channel is whack. I am reading this book called Last Ape Standing. Its pretty rad, and it tells about how we were the only ones left from 27-28 other species of "human" forms. Basically says the same thing, that our brains about tripled in size over about 3 million years.

By the way, I am a Mormon, and believe in evolution. The way I see it, God has to live by natural laws just the same as we do. He might understand them like 5,000 times better than even Stephen Hawking, but he still has to live by them.

They aren't more attractive, they just seem that way because you can't have them.

oh, and Mormon girls are way more attractive than any other girls. It's some secret they learn in young women's. They wont even tell the guys in the church what the secret is.
