What has David Locke so upset?

Where does a fan become "actual"? When can a fan become critical?

....personally, I would like to start the "cynical fan" site! Actually, there's a sports writer for the N.Y. Post, Phil Mushnick, who is my favorite sports writer right now! VERY CYNICAL and spot on with most of his observations! Rips into ESPN like nobodies business! Always a great read, no matter what sport he's attacking! I e-mailed him recently about what one of us said in connection with there being 5 Jazz players younger than 4 guys on Wichita State....and he actually responded with a big + for that info!

Here's a sampling of his column today!

"Not sure anymore what it takes to make any Hall of Fame, but a lot of tickets to a lot of games were sold to a lot of people, especially people in New Jersey and then Utah, attached to the promise of watching Bernard King play — except King either was under arrest for domestic violence, suspended or in alcohol/drug rehab."

"Letter of the Week, from Pete Gilmore, The Bronx: “First time, long time. Thanks for taking my email. I couldn’t stay up to watch the game, last night (because I have a job), but I see ESPN is reporting that Louisville pulled it out by going on an 82-76 run.”

Thriller and vslice hit the nail on the head.

Either:

1 - Corbin sucks, he can't develop talent, set lineups, call good plays

OR

2 - KOC sucks and he doesn't bring in talent, can't draft worth a lick, and has passed up on multiple future All-Stars for draft busts.

Nice to make life that simple but other "OR" statements can be made. One of which is -

OR this is a young team with promising talent that wasn't ready to take over the minutes of the vets.

Has to be clear to anyone who has followed the Jazz for any period of time that the Jazz organization believes you can develop talent gradually and that game situations are not the only way to do that. You can disagree but that is obvious. I am not crazy about Ty and not sure he will make it but much of what is posted on this site about his bad decisions is ludicrous and people searching for things to complain about. On the other hand, I am one who thinks KOC knows what he is doing.

Boring and more than likely untrue.

They both made some good points, Locke was prepared, Mahoney wasn't as prepared, I have to agree with Locke for the most part though. The Jazz are an 8 seed playoff team, thats where their talent level is. Locke did try and explain some of the rational for what Corbin is doing, some of it made sense, some of it was forced.

I think this is pretty accurate but to agree with OG, its fairly boring.

Look, Locke basically used his podcast as a way to bash another media member. Most of us here agree with what Mahoney was trying to do and frankly, no one around here is doing that. Locke seemed like a gigantic prick on that podcast and he threw everyone in the organization (Players, FO, etc) under the bus just to try and prove that Corbin is competent. Yea, that is always nice. I like it when I get thrown under the bus, it endears me to that person even more.

Who got thrown under the bus? I listened to the whole thing yesterday and don't recall him doing anything like that. He said Jefferson can't play P&R D at all, Favors is pretty far behind offensively, Sap is not a go to guy ... All true obvious things. He was being a prick though, very confrontational.

The part about the Jazz having the worst starting 5 in every game they play.

Is that not accurate ? I wouldn't say the worst in every game, but its bottom 1/2 to bottom 1/3 for sure. Wasn't there an uprising recently because Locke wouldn't say negative things about the Jazz? Well he did yesterday, and they were all true. Well, probably not all, but almost all of them.
