A hard cap won't help a small market (less ad revenue) in a winterr climate.

A hard cap would be terrible for the game. So Portland offers $17M + one dollar for Deron because the Jazz only have $17M left?

I don't think there's too much wrong with the current set-up.
The game ain't broke - and neither are the owners. They keep overspending on FA's. One thing we know...even if the players make concessions, nobody is going to lower ticket or beer prices.

I realize the NFL has a hard cap, but you have 53 per team. It's a lot easier to move parts around to stay under the cap.
