What's new

The Official "Ask A Moron" thread.

Funny that you should ask. I have, and I will be running again this November.
I knew that Troutbum. I may think you're a bit of a tool on this board, but I do respect you for caring enough about the issues in your community to run for office. Good luck!

Was wearing the "Y" hat during your television interview a calculated political move or just your natural gravitation towards things that are sad and pathetic?

Is the slate clean as of now, or is he on thin ice already?

So you're going to make city council this time???

This is an excellent question, but unfortunately, I can't give you an answer. My gut feeling? I'm going to stomp my opponents into the ground. My reality feeling? I won't make it out of the primary.

Since the guy he lost to won't be running this time, the chances are slightly better.

Fun story behind this, actually. (and by "fun", I really mean, "this is exactly why I am running even though I don't want to") https://www.taylorsvilletidbits.com/2013/01/christopherson-appointed-as-district-3.html In a nut shell, eight people applied for the vacancy. The council had a public interview, and then narrowed it down to four. There were two of the four, that in my humble opinion, would have done a decent job and two of the four really had no business being there. Here's the best part: One applicant had over two years of service to the city as a member of "a committee", was up to date and current with all of the goings-on of the city, hadn't missed more than a handful of city meetings, including all strategic planning meetings, in three plus years. He had a good knowledge of last year and current fiscal year city budget, had a letter of recommendation from the out-going Mayor, a letter of recommendation from a long time member of the Planning Commission, another letter of recommendation from a high level city employee, and other verbal recommendations (couldn't do a letter due to conflict of interest) from leaders of the city and community. Then there was this other applicant who was really nice, kind of quiet, and was just sorta there. Nobody had ever seen him at a meeting, nobody had ever seen him at any city function, and he wasn't on any of the volunteer committee's for the city. In short, he had absolutely no idea what was going on in the city, who people were, how things were done, and hadn't lifted a finger to help out in any way. I'll give you two guesses as to who was appointed... Come to find out later (although it has just been through the grapevine, and I can't really say for sure) that "that guy" just so happens to be one of the new mayors buddy-buddy pal's. Oh, this is such a shocker to me, really.

I have two things to say about this: On AND off the field. 1984.

Dude, it's not always easy having better hair than most girls. As far as the incredible amount of brain that I possess, well, it's kind of a curse in disguise. Do you know how hard it is to KNOW EVERYTHING?

How many tax write offs were you able to find related to your chosen profession of Rammstein groupie?

Girl, please. I'd pay good money for that honor.
