What's new

remember the 2 big trades

remember the deron trade and the carmello trade.
of the 4 teams.
denver
knicks
brooklyn
jazz.

almost all expert declared that jazz where the winners in those 2 trades.
jazz got the best deal.
well
lets see.
New york Knicks 2nd in the east. with a 53.27 record
denver nuggets 3rd in the west with a 55-25 record
brooklyn nets 4th in the east with a 47-33 record.

jazz 9th in the west with a 42-38 record.

either jazz ****ed up in the trades, and everybody was wrong that jazz got the best deal.
or this is a clear sign management/coaching failed.

looking at those other 3 teams from those big trades/depresses me even more.

Jazz got the most future potential. NY and Nets got the top players, Denver got the best haul of current players.

**** takes time.

Isn't that the thing though? Time changes everything. There's no promise any of those pieces we have won't bolt for a better contract somewhere else.

As of now, we are in a position to offer them the best contracts they can possibly get.

Tyrone Corbin vs. George Karl - Enough Said

Regarding the Knicks and Nets they got the 'stars' so therefore they will be better immediately. The job Karl has done in Denver has been amazing. He ADJUSTED to his crop of players. The Motor that makes that team run is their crop of PG's where as our only PG was out for a portion of the season.

Again - coaching does wonders. Karl doesn't care if you are a VET or Rookie - he will play his most talented players. Corbin as we all know either A) doesn't believe in that or B) is being told by someone not to play them.

Thank God you came along when you did! I think that horse, even maggot ridden and severly decomposed, was going to come back to life and needed another good beating.

I think we could've asked NJ for more- like the pick they sent off for Gerald Wallace which in turn got them Damian Lillard.

talking to me?
if so i was just wondering how deron and his team has been doing lately.
so i was suprised they finished 4th.
so i was reminiscing about the trade/ and those days how hopes where high.

not trying to beat the zombie horse.
just a interesting fct.
as i recall nobody ever looked at it from this light.

George Karl is one of the best regular season coaches ... I'd say Popovich being the best ... one of the biggest flaws of Karl in the post season is his defensive schemes just don't hold up in a seven game series ... just look at how D-Will and Booz took care of them lol .. I was very skeptical of the trades .. I do think Denver was the clear cut winner right now ... but Favors is as good as we let him be

Yes I was talking to you but I am just messing. You can make a topic on anything you want on here.

I think it is like Cy said combined with mistakes on coaching.

I haven't been happy with the direction of the Jazz since the trade, but we can really salvage things this summer if we cut loose the vets, bring in a new coach, and turn the team over to the young guys. Derrick has really impressed me lately, we know Kanter has the chance to be special and Hayward is already a nice player.

Also factor in the Nuggets signed Iggy, and got a steal in Fahried. Also, all their pieces really compliment each other. The Jazz roster is a work in progress. The Nuggets roster, for the most part, is as is. I really don't see any future Nuggets additions outside of late round draft picks and MLE and lower type FA's.

The Jazz on the other hand, have a ton of cap space coming up, and some decent draft picks up ahead. They also, if they so choose, may position themselves for a tank next season, as Lindsey has hinted they are willing to take a step back next year for the better of the future, to get a star in the 2014 draft.

Yes this was brought up in many other threads and as I said in one of them and as just CY mentioned the Iggy trade helped them (which had nothing to do with the Melo trade) but also the PG play of having Ty Lawson (again nothing to do with the Melo trade) are the biggest factors IMO. You put Lawson on the Jazz and I would bet they would have a much better record.

Would you trade Favors, Kanter, Harris/Williams & GSW 1st rounder
for
Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov & a 2012 2nd round draft pick (Quincy Miller), a 2013 2nd round draft pick and a 2014 1st round draft pick?

Uh, George Karl didn't coach that series if you remember.. it was AD because Karl had cancer.

DoucheJazzer at his finest our trade won't be complete till this draft is over. We got Favors and Kanter, two unfinished products. You like the rest of us knew this would take some time, in two years time we will be the best of the three teams. So it is written so shall it come to pass.

I think you misunderstood what he was saying. He was talking about their defensive schemes. Even though he didn't coach that team they still ran his defensive schemes
