LOL.. Spence and Monson also couldn't figure it out on the Big Show.
I thought about it, and I think it has something to do with the fact that Jazz needs 2 results to go their way to get into the playoffs: 1) Jazz needs to beat MEM, and 2) LAL needs to lose to HOU.
Whereas LAL simply needs to beat HOU regardless of whether or not Jazz beats MEM to make the playoffs. Further, if Jazz loses to MEM, LAL is automatically in.
When you need 2 results to go your way the probability goes down fast... (I remember learning that in highschool stats class)
Assuming the Jazz have a 40% chance of beating Memphis and Houston has 40% chance of beating the Lakers, then the Jazz's chance of making the playoffs is 0.40 x 0.40 = 0.16 or 16%. Which is why I'm not getting my hopes up.
