Not sure why people keep dodging the ceiling question re Burke & Schroeder. My guess would be that's because it's too close to call - no?

Burke is more polished for sure. He's a real leader out there on the floor and he plays under control, extremely low TO's, makes the right read, the right passes, etc. But I personally think Schroeder is a much better athlete. He's really really quick. His acceleration I've said before is like a VW Golf GTI with a DSG gear box - lighting quick gear change. He's also taller with a huge wingspan which bodes well for the NBA.

Biggest difference is Schroeder's ability to beat his man one-on-one without having to set a pick - something Burke struggled to do consistently in college.

To me it is just because no one really knows much about Schroeder, but we know pretty much all you can know about Burke. Burke is good, safe and probably going to be good in the NBA, maybe great. To me, there is a reason that Schroeder is projected to be drafted around 20, and Burke could go top 5. It probably is just that we don't know much about them, but it maybe says that Burke has a higher ceiling. I am going to go with Burke will have a better career.

NCAA tourney and a lack of legit talent.

Burke was #17 at the beginning of the year.

Burke isn't a top-5 talent though. In all reality, he should be placed in around the same range that Schroeder is. Neither will be great players, but Burke has a higher floor than Schroeder.

It's a weak PG class. No doubts about it.

What you and KKK just said is true. I will add one more thing though, it is not just the point guard class that is weak, but the whole draft is weak. It has gotten even worse with all the guys that are staying at school another year. I would probably rather just have bledsoe, but I am back and forth on him too, because of the price we will have to pay to keep him.

The purpose of the poll is to get a read on these particular players that are mocked to be in the #14 pick range. There could obviously be other options like Caldwell-Pope, Goodwin, Karasev, but lets start by getting feedback on these guys.

Schroeder probably has more long-term upside than Burke due to size, reach, speed and on-the-ball defense. But Burke is the better shooter/scorer and more polished player right now.

Schroeder by a hair over MCW...
MCW isn't that good at all. Big bust in my book
I dunno.. who do you think has a higher ceiling? Burke or Schroeder?

I think Schroeder.
KKK, really!! You think someone who you've only seen once in a glorified Allstar game will be better then the well known Burke? Your all over the place. First it was Burke then MCW now Schroeder. This is causing you to ignore the best option, which is CJ.

By the way I said Austin. Would love him as our third big.

That's where I voted as well..

I never said Schroeder will be better than Burke. I said, to me, he has a higher ceiling than Burke. Whether or not he can achieve that - that's up to him and the environment he's in.

Yes first it was Burke (when he was projected #17 pick BTW), then when Burke played himself into top #7 of course I went with MCW, but now with players dropping out, he's outside our range as well.

Schroeder only declared for the draft this week - so how could I have known 2 months ago????

This draft is all over the place this year with guys coming in, going out, etc... But don't tell me KOC/Lindsey would have said "It's Burke at the beginning of the year - and no matter what happened since then we'll just HAVE TO get him. Even if it means trading a C4 + x2 first round picks".

That's the thing I hate so much about the draft. I get all excited about a player maybe being on the jazz and then they rise so much that we can't get them with our pick. I remember the worst for me was the Derrick favors draft. I wanted the jazz to get him , but then out pick sucked and I was pissed we had to get Hayward. But then we did get favors.... Of course back then I was sure he was going to be amare stoudemire with some defense.

I also loved Derrick Williams before his draft, so yeah I might not be the best judge.

Fair enough.
