What's new

To all the Mark Jackson Jock Monkeys

I dunno man.. to get respect as a coach in the NBA these days I think you need to be either:

- Great/been-there-done-that former player (McHale, Jackson)

- Great bball minds (SVG, Thibodeau, Hubie, Brown)

- Great leader (Phil Jackson, Popovich)

Obviously guys like Phil and Pop are also great bball minds which makes them greatest of all time.

Ty Corbin is just neither of those. He was a below average former player. He's definitely not a bball genius. He's not a great leader. I struggle to come up with what he's actually good at.

he is good at trolling

Mark Jackson is a flaming douche bag. Always has been, always will be. He can smoke a skin pipe.

that maybe

he is still a great coach.

i loved when pop ran down the court to yell at parker to commit a hack a bogut.

but then instead of pulling a Corbin and going brain dead, mark jackson reacted and called a timeout within a couple of seconds so that parker could not commit the foul. so he could take out bogut.

that right there might have won jackson the game since 1 possesion could have meant the difference between a loss and going to overtime.

so yeah he might flaming douche bag. Always has been, always will be. He can smoke a skin pipe.
he still is a damm good coach.

.

Mark also called a timeout once or twice today because he saw his team was in danger of getting a turnover.

One of the most enjoyable experiences for me has been to see all the young players play many minutes and provide many memorable experiences.

While Barnes, Curry, Green, and Thompson run circles around San Antonio, our young guys have struggled to get off the bench. Anyone here think that Richard Jefferson could have done any better than Thompson or Barnes?

When you look at it, Norris cole, Paul George, Thompson, Barnes, Conley, even Reggie Jackson, have proven how foolish we have been in our reluctance and stubbornness in playing the youth. What's really funny is that many of these players (like George) were available in the draft when we drafted. I hope our management has been taking notes. Otherwise, we are doomed to repeat the same mistakes. Do we really want another year like last year? Or the year before that? Or the year before that???

Time to embrace the youth and rebuild this thing.

Yeah, and just imagine if his team was healthy. Imagine next year, starting the season with a healthy Bogut, a healthy Lee, and a healthy Curry. They just might have the best team in the league.

The Warriors will never have a season as good as this again.

I'll bet money on it.

Oops, typo. You wanted the key to the left. Lee is a Boozer clone without the douchey personality, but with the same matador cape.

Nope. Although I think D-Lee is underrated here, I like Millsap's Alligator eating him up. Sap was the bright spot, but underused.

Disagree.

Mark Jackson is a good coach.

The first thing you need to be a good coach is to be able to sell what you are doing, to your players.

You'd have a pint if he didn't sail that right into a 47 win season.

LMAO. And Corbin is doing what right now? Fishin. And Jackson is doing what right now? In the second round of the playoffs, scaring the hell out of the Spurs.

Denver was injured, Spurs aren't worried.

Good coaches make players look better than they are. Bad coaches make player look worse than they are.

That's why a 3-4 seed won 47 games? Corbin would have 52 that squad, minimum.

Offensively, Jefferson uses possessions in a way that is closer to taxing his own team than helping (notwithstanding the putrid defense and how his play magically makes the players around him worse). The only reason there can be debate between the two players is Bogut's injury history and proclivity. And maybe the relative contract statuses.

All of this. I'd s-n-t Jefferson and then some for Bogut. Could you imagine that front court?

I'd rather have a d bag who knows how to coach than a cheerleader who "loves his team" who has no idea how to coach.

Jackson is pretty good at cheerleading from the stool.

The Warriors will never have a season as good as this again.

I'll bet money on it.

Want to bet that the Jazz won't have as good of a year next year that Golden St. is having right now?

Isn't that really what this is about? Jazz fans with sour grapes wanting to bash mark Jackson and diminish what GS has accomplished this year? The reality is we are 2-3 years behind Denver, Houston, and Golden St. No amount of mark Jackson bashing will make up for the last 2 years our FO has foolishly squandered. Precious time which could have been better utilized to rebuild rather than prolong the careers of several mediocre vets and coach in training.

Really tho, it's a no **** type of thing when you sayin Golden State ain't goin to reach 50+ wins again under Mark "cross my arms in a cross for a gangsta pose" Jax.

The truth is though that everybody here is Stockton jock riders, and hate Mark Jax for the fact that he was a locker room cancer while he was here for one year. Supposedly. Let's be real tho, Jackson earned his assists too.

nah jazzfanz rather have a guy with a great personality and suck at basketball.
(corbin jeffersuck).

then a bad personality and be great at basketball
(mark jackson)

I don't think anybody here thinks Corbin is a better coach than Jackson or that Jackson is not the superior basketball mind. It's just that some of us don't like either coach and would pass on both of them in favor of say Stan VanGundy! Heck, I'd rather have Peter Vescey coach the Jazz than Corbin or Jackson! At least the post game commentary would be hilarious and true!

....I just heard Jackson say that his backcourt is the "greatest shooting backcourt in the HISTORY of the game!" We need not say more about Jacksons ability to coach, commentate, or analyze basketball on any level of the sport!

for jackson every possesion seems to count.

for corbin it is just one possession, one game, one season, one decade

The end of the game 6 Denver game and several end of quarter possessions in this Spurs series would say otherwise. They had several TO's and mistakes that would've cost them the game, Curry's & Thompson's and to a lesser degree Jarret Jack's shooting has been able to make up/cover up/bail them out of those mistakes.
