Jazz Should Target RFA Chris Copeland

The SF was a great find by the Knicks and will certainly get a raise from his $800K deal. He is a three-point specialist (shooting 47% from 3 in the playoffs) who also showed ability to play in the post and run the wing. He had a big game against the Jazz, which Utah often looks at when targeting free agents. He will probably be seeking a deal similar to Steve Novak's 4yr./$16m which the Knicks would struggle to match and which is not too hefty. While he is old for a rookie (28), Belgian seasons are shorter than the NBA grind, so he should be a young 28. He is a Colorado guy, so maybe Burks can do some recruiting. I think he fits a lot of needs for the Jazz and can be had at a reasonable price, so he would be one of my Top 3 realistic free agent targets.

hes the reason they won game 6, kids got a big mobile body, i watch the knicks before the jazz almost every game. good player

no, they should just draft DeMarre Carroll instead. Probably have to pick him up with #14 though, and trade both our other picks to get him...
or we draft 3 euro projects and stash them for a few years, then fill out the roster with FA's like copeland dwight howard and chris paul

Na... Chris Paul has never been pass the second round!!

well hes never won the mvp either, but he has averaged 22, 11.5 while getting more steals than turnovers, at 4 rebounds per game in 80+ starts, do you know how many players have had stats like that over the course of a season?

but i think if he had Dwight howard, Derrick Favors. Kanter off the bench, burks + Hay on the wing with him, he might get past the 2nd round.. maybe

i do think/hope that cp3 would recognize he has a better shot with our kids than the blake show, and you know dwight would prefer it anywhere but LA. i like dwight in UTAH kanter and favors make it so we can rehab him proper instead of needing return from an injured player, like the lakers just attempted.

Sign Dwight, Cp3, Copeland, trade up for Shabazz, beat heat, win championship

oh yeah, I bet Dennis Lindsay and KOC could figure all that out in a weekend. No need to even come in on Monday.

I wouldn't complain. Would NYC let him go though? Seems like he is a fan favorite, especially right now.

He would just be a role player, so he wouldn't be worth anything over 4mill/year (at most) and I think NYC matches that if they have the cap space.

And even though he is pretty old, he should have fairly young legs. Would be a good bench scorer for us.

I find threads like this interesting. On one hand, we have the "tank so that we can get Wiggins" threads, and then we have threads like this where we want to go for a Williams-Boozer era rebuild. That'd be the point of signing this guy, to see if he can play like a 6th man role. But with Corbin, he'd start.

I flipped to the game last night and thought "Wow, Mikki Moore is still playing".

His sample size in the playoffs is small, but in March and April whenever he got minutes, he put up some big numbers. I'd make him an offer.

i worry about the NYC price mark up a la landry fields or dlee , i prefer aminu if the salaries are close, aminus 23 and unrestricted, i like that, same age as withey

to answer your first question the Nix are cluster****ed for salarycap next year, they cant afford him
