Cavs will listen to offers for the 1st pick

Well, since Cavs aren't trading the #1 for anything outside the top 6...

Life as a jazz fan, man. life as a jazz fan.

I always laugh at the folks who want to trade good established players for the chance that a rookie from the draft will be better. It took Hayward a few years to really come into his own as with Favors and Kanter. Except for a handful of rare exceptions, the same will be true of pretty much every player in this draft. Unless you are looking four years down the road, Hayward is likely at least as good, if not better, than anybody the Jazz can get in this draft. The window for the c4 is not long enough to develop three rookies in time to compliment them.

This is spot on. The grass is always greener on Jazzfanz in multiple ways. Like every year the players that get trashed are the ones getting minutes. And people are sure that those not playing would be terrific. Funny how that works. The only one of the c4 I would consider trading to move up is Burks and that would have to be a good offer.

If we're going to move up, Burke or McCollum as targets make the most sense. This will take both our picks + Burks (at very least). Would you do it? I would in a heart beat.

Yup.

Considering Burks is worth about a #25 pick in a normal draft (not lockout), what is a #25, 21, & 14 worth?

I really love Burke as a college player. But I have questions about his athleticism. How does he compare to cp3 or Ty Lawson? Anyone have the combine results?

He doesn't compare to Lawson but fairly well with CP3. I like him for his leadership, heady play, clutchness, etc. I think he's a team culture changer.

Didn't Hayward lead his college team to the NCAA tourney with less talent and almost win it?
Also, didn't Burke let Siva penetrate through the defense time and time again in this year's tourney causing them to lose the tourney?

Srsly frank.... Respect ur sig!!

Honest question if burks stayed in college the last two years where do you think he goes in this draft??

Schroder compares fairly well to Lawson but doesn't compare to CP3. I like him for his leadership, heady play, clutchness, etc. I think he's a team culture changer.

CP3 is a surefire first ballot HoF'er on stats alone, you think burkes career will compare fairly well with his?

I say give them Hayward and the 2014 pick for #1.... !!!

or if you really want to dominate the paint, take len #1. hes a 7'2", better al, with potential for massive upside

i say alex len doesn't know his own strength. i see huge upside once he starts taking the ball up strong, efficiency, and can shoot free throws (brook lopez)

i have len 98, shabazz 97, noel and bennett 96 and schroder is my only player at 95, all other prospects i have in the top 10 are in the low 90's including mclemore, 93-94

Burks and our second round pick for Schroeder.

One of our first round picks (14th pick) and a future unprotected first round pick plus Hayward for the first pick (McLemore).

Draft Gobert with the remaining 21st pick.

Jazz starting lineup:

Schroeder - FA
McLemore - Foye
Webster - Dunleavy
Kanter - Landry
Favors - Gobert

That would be a hell of a team.

I'm not convinced McLemore will be a better pro than Hayward.

Got one more from PG_AB somewhere to add...

I think I'd put him in the class of Jamaal Franklin and Caldwell-Pope.

I think if Burks stayed he would have been exposed. He has few basketball skills and his strength in college was sheer athleticism -- he could pull up or drive and jump over anyone at the lower comp. level he was playing at. To this day, his only drive move is a shoulder shiver that doesn't throw any NBA player off balance, and he's not good at stop n go dribble, etc. He has a great body with slightly less leaping than optimal, and that's why he was drafted that high in a very poor draft.

What do you think Boston would say if we offered them Hayward and 2014 #1 unprotected and offered to take back contracts for Rondo? Boston could ship out Pierce and Garnett to contending teams and tank like hell for 2014, and we would have Rondo/Favors/Kanter to build on.

Hayward, Favors and Kanter have just as good as shot to be great as anyone in this draft. I won't trade them. Everyone else is available. The problem is, we don't have anything worth taking. Pathetically, our best asset might be Marvin Williams and his expiring deal.

No. Nor do I believe Schroder's will.
People seem to love to compare size and athleticism.. which is why I hate comparisons.. there's just so many things that go into a player playing at a high level.
