Awesome AK article.. To all the nay-sayers.

At this stage, if I'm in Jazz management, I'd have a hard time justifying moving him. At the beginning of the season, yes, to lighten the salary load, but it obviously would hurt our chemistry this season to trade him at this late date.
With that said, the question has to be how much of a pay cut would he take to stay next year? I just can't see him being offered $17 mil next season to re-sign with us...
Hate to say it, but it would not surprise me if he bolts for Russia and more $$$ next season.

But the fact that Utah almost did trade him before suggests that they wouldn't completely rule out trading him again.

But if the opportunity presents itself again, it'll be tough to carry out if Kiri is playing well.

If it does happen, and Kiri is carried away to another team, hopefully the other wings will have ripened a bit more by then.

[I don't think there are a lot of teams who would like to take on Kiri. And Denver was foolish IMHO not to unload Crymelo when they could--not in order to get Kiri, but rather to get a good big man in Favors. Now they might possibly end up empty-handed, although New York might cobble together some garbage that the Nugheads end up settleing for.

Though I do not want the Jazz to trade Andrei, I still believe they will look to move him if Utah does not have a top two West playoff seed. They almost traded him for Boris Diaw of all people. C'mon, Boris Diaw?

If the NBA avoids a lockout, I would be surprised if Prokhorov (sp?) and the Nets do not make a strong bid for him.

If the NBA locks out the players, Andrei might find Russia too enticing

Either way, I would doubt Andrei finishes his career in a Jazz jersey.

Question for all-making the big assumption that AK stays healthy, what is his next contract. 3 million? 6-8 million, more?

6-8 would be ideal, the harsh reality is many teams still have a lot of cash to burn and it may take 10 million/year. At that point we promote Jeremy Evans and throw him into the fire.
