Does Microsoft being an American company make any difference to anyone? Personally I tend to support my own if products are somewhat similar.

Halo 4 has been the best Halo since the first Halo which is pretty high bar since Halo 2 has been great as well. 343 has done a great job with Halo 4 imo, especially with how bad Bungie did with Halo ODST and Halo Reach.

I can't believe how people are talking up Bungies Destiny with how limited info and gameplay footage we have of the game. Also the footage we did see of Destiny was pretty medicore, they were talking about how cool a sniper rifle was...

elaborate plz on what was moronic.

The writing in general. It sounded like I was reading the ramblings of some 12 year old making a youtube comment.

To be more specific though, I'll focus on the biggest issue I have with the xbox1 which is this:

>Instead of 10mins, is 24hrs for your console, and 1 or 2 at a friends house. Really the majority of people have a speck of internet at least once a day. And if you don't. Don't buy an Xbox 1. Just like if you didn't have a broadband connection don't get Live, and if you don't have an HDTV the 360 isn't that great for you either. New tech, new req. This allows us to do cool **** when we can assume things like you have a kinect, you have internet, etc.

>Current plan is basically you're ****ed after 24 hours. Yeah... I know. Kind of sucks. I believe they will probably revist the time period and / or find a diff way to "call in" to ensure you haven't sold your license to gamestop or something... but there is no plan YET. I'm hoping the change it, but I don't work on that so I don't have much influence there /sigh

>If the power goes out you ain't playing ****. I'm assuming you mean the internet goes out but you have power for TV and Xbox. Yes, You're ****ed for single player games. Again, that's the PoR (Plan of record), but I expect it to change after the e3 cluster****

I'll give him partial credit for realizing how stupid the 24 hour check in is, and the flaws behind it in general, but he still has that same arrogant dismissive attitude that I can't stand from Microsoft (at least in terms of their PR in this new console war). Which is essentially "if you don't internet well, basically, **** you." There is no reason for an internet connection when games are sold on disc. Absolutely no compelling reason whatsoever. Even he can't think of one (other than 'wow, look at all the cool things we can do' as he proceeds to elaborate on none of them).

One thing he made a call back on which I had forgot was that many games on the 360 made standard def tv's worthless. Though in that case I believe it was the developer of games who were more at fault for that. In this case it's Microsoft policy.

On a general note, I fault nobody for wanting the new xbox. There are things about it that I find interesting. And I fault nobody for liking the exclusive games that come with it, and if someone wants one more power to them. Hell, I may succumb and get one sometime, especially if they get rid of many of these stupid policies. But on pure principle I cannot support a company that mandates that you must check in with them once a day to play games that you bought. It doesn't even matter to me on a practical level since I do live in a fairly major metro area and have had broadband service consistently for almost 10 years or so now. But on principle I just cannot support it.

Holy ****, that moron works for Microsoft? Actually, it kind of makes sense.

You know, I'd be all for Microsoft's model if they actually carried through on lowering prices for games, as the guy says in the first part of his long ramblings. But does anyone actually believe that as a result of eliminating used game sales publishers will start slashing their prices?

If you look at last gen's sales numbers, the 360 beat the PS3 handily in the US, while the PS3 beat the 360 handily in all other regions. So it looks like it does matter to a lot of people. But speaking for myself, that consideration is so far down the list for this purchase as to be basically nonexistent. I have both practical and philosophical reasons for preferring the PS4 over the XB1.

Getting Loot >>> anything else in games ever

Hopefully the loot system as well as the leveling/upgrade system is fleshed out deeply and matters.

Between this and The Division, I'm actually excited about shooters again.

"Have you seen our exclusives?" "Conversation over." Wow. Also, "I'm pretty sure gamers are gonna love our vision of the future." Well they don't Nelson. They don't.

I'm 100% certain he's some kind of stoned.

I'm trying to get back into gaming and I think the PS4 is the perfect place for me to get back into it. Seems like it's a great price and you can play any PS games going back..

I haven't "game" for a while since I used to play "Silent Hill" on my PS2? Or was it PS1?

Anyway can someone suggest a similar game for me to get started??? Great storyline, great atmosphere, I do like that suspense, puzzle, who-done-it type, some shooting/fighting is OK too...
