What's new

Warriors and Jazz Mega Trade

Yes we want to tank next year, but no we don't want to have anyone in front of the young guns.

It's called rebuilding.....(sexy tanking)

Pick 14 and 21 turned into Trey Burke, someone most Jazz fans was unattainable on draft night...who knows what an extra 1st could net next year. Plus, instead of signing FA's to long term contracts, we now have supreme financial flexibility in signing FA's this year and/or extending any of our youngsters.

No one will take the 7th and 25th pick so we can move into the top 5 next year. There were no superstars in this years draft.

Jarrett Jack tweeting that he's gone. Is he someone in the deal coming to Utah? Even thought he was a FA?

This has gotta be a tank job for long-term. The young guys get to play together but our bench stinks. We tank, get a lottery pick next year plus another first rounder from GS, even if it's a late first rounder. In the meantime, we have lots of money in expiring contracts off the books.

I can't believe Lindsey is this stupid. There's a long term plan here, right?

The big problem will be if these guys actually get to start over our young core. With these guys, I really don't see that happening....DO I? DO I???

yep, picks are picks

curry could easily get injured

howard (if they get him) has injury history

Man you all were praising Lindsay just 24 hrs ago and now it's like a lynch mob mentality here. I just don't get it. They're both expiring contracts and we're getting draft picks. Who else would you trade with? I'd like to know.

On the bright side karma could give GS a cold bitter slap in the face.

They have a few key injuries, suck, and we end up with a top 3 pick.
That would be sweet sweet justice.

What are the buyout rules - how quickly can we buyout any of the the three players coming our way? And what would buyouts do for our capspace?

I want a real asset. Not upper 20's draft picks. Barnes is still young, very talented, and wouldn't make us that much better...yet. He fits in perfectly with what we are trying to do.

Everyone needs to calm down a bit.

Three expiring deals = cap space for free agents next summer.

Three ****ty vets who will either be so bad that not even Corbin will start them, or he will which only help the tank job we're all been praying for.

Draft picks in 2014 (dunno the details of these picks, obviously) but maybe they could be used to move up in the epic 2014 draft like we did two weeks ago.

And we didn't give up ****. Yes, we helped a franchise we all despise, but I'm sure GS would have found a trade partner either way. So, at least we got something out of GS acquiring Iggy.

I wish we could have landed Barnes, but I'm still excited that it appears we're tanking.

EDIT: Oh, and those three expirings could also be used at the trade deadline to acquire even more picks to package and move up in 2014...or another young player.

Yeah it will be harder to move up next year, that's true, but its still an extra pick in what's supposed to be a loaded draft.

Does this represent a commitment to Favors and Kanter? Is... god forbid... Biendrins actually going to play? Why would Hayward or Favors sign an extension to this outfit? Terrible terrible. Oh also, is the offseason over? Our backup bigs are Gobert Evans and Biendrins. No backup pg still. Marv still here. So that means JYD gone. **** **** ****. I am pissed beyond belief, what a kick straight to the ****

I don't see the high 20s picks being any stronger in 2014 than this year. The draft pick will be worth 3 million. We just took on 24 million worth of garbage.

Rush may play. I'm sure Jefferson and Biendrins will be told to take a hike.

soo updated depth chart:

Burke - McNeal
Burks - Rush
Hayward - Carroll - Jefferson
Favors - Evans
Kanter - Gobert - Biedrins

That's 12 players currently, assuming Gobert is playing this year.

I assume we are going to go after another PG (hopefully just re-sign Tinsley) and a some kind of PF.

Cap space is extremely valuable....

We weren't signing anyone special this year anyways. Now we have the space next year, and will have a couple 1st round draft picks to boot. We had 2 1st rounders last week and that turned out very good!
