Warriors and Jazz Mega Trade

EDIT: Oh, and those three expirings could also be used at the trade deadline to acquire even more picks to package and move up in 2014...or another young player.

Expiring contracts only get moved at the deadline for picks if they are GOOD players. No one will be willing to hand us a draft pick for Biedrins or Jefferson at the deadline. They will expire on our roster and it will open up more space for us next year.

And by the way, I don't know if anyone saw this post:

So GS won't be getting Howard. I don't see Iggy making them that much better....

Of course he will, he can completely shut down any wing not named Lebron or Durant.

soo updated depth chart:

Burke - McNeal
Burks - Rush
Hayward - Carroll - Jefferson
Favors - Evans
Kanter - Gobert - Biedrins

That's 12 players currently, assuming Gobert is playing this year.

I assume we are going to go after another PG (hopefully just re-sign Tinsley) and a some kind of PF.

Close but Marvin Williams is still on the team. They must be planning on a vet PG and another 4. They have been talking about a stretch 4. So Chris Copeland? Maybe Millsap isn't out of the question if he wants a mid-level exception contract.

I'm betting we're getting 2014, 2016, and 2018 for picks. Considering the history of the Warriors franchise, they could be horrible again in a few years.

I want a real asset. Not upper 20's draft picks. Barnes is still young, very talented, and wouldn't make us that much better...yet. He fits in perfectly with what we are trying to do.

I love the Black Falcon more than anyone on this board.
I'm furious we didn't demand him in this deal

Who ****ing cares about getting late first rounders?? Seriously?

The trade looks like crap but to me it clearly signals the 2014 draft. Jazz will now have 2 picks and young assets to offer someone to move up. What would a package like Burks, Tomic rights, Neto rights, and 2 2014 first rounders get Utah?

That's it??????????????

Golden State will send first-round picks in 2014 and 2017 to the Jazz, league sources tell Y! Sports.

If they don't have a top 5 pick. They ain't gettin a top 5 pick. So it doesn't really matter. They can move from 14 to 9 again. Woo.

I'd still think top 5 is untouchable.

Ya, I'm on board with the trade now. Just wanted Barnes or Thompson really bad.

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. I would have taken one of Biedrins or Jefferson and one other decent player, but not both. The strip clubs in SLC will be happy now that Biedrins is coming to town. All those warm fuzzies from the Trey Burke trade/pick just disappeared.

Yeah, but then they'd have to do a S&T w/the Lakers to accomplish that I think. That would have to include Thompson or Curry so that really hurts, esp w/Howard's liabilities.
