What's new

*****2013 Training Camp Updates and Discussion Thread*****

Honestly with what were trying to accomplish the thought of Marvin playing a lot nonetheless starting should be as repugnant as the thought of Jefferson starting and playing a ton.

Lol in what universe? In 2011 Josh scored 8.7 ppg on .399 shooting. 2012 Marvin 7.2 ppg on .42 shooting

Marvin was so terrible last year, he's a nice guy but he sucks. Badly. Evans should play over him.

Right because we should ignore the other half of basketball entirely, along with three-point percentage.

Marvin wasn't exactly chopped liver from 3 bro. And he'd have to be Bruce Bowen to make up for his flat negative on O. He's not.

This post really clarified how Josh Howard is just as good as Marv on defense.

Also: Ill take 32.5 over 24.3 any day.

Like really, 33%? That's ****ing awful. And you want this guy to start.

I thought the whole plan this year was to have the fun tank not the cant watch this **** tank

I cannot understand the hate on Richard Jefferson. I mean ok he is a Jefferson :) :) but he isn't that bad. Can put experience, maybe help burks a bit since their play styles are similar. Remember the young Richard Jefferson. Yes he is much more slower and less athletic, but still he deserves a chance.

What about Dominic McGuire?
I used to love him when he was in Washington.

Corbin should be so happy he has the opportunity to have so many vets sit on the bench with him. He should cease this opportunity to surround himself with thos he loves.

BTW, I think Kanter should be our 4 since he can hi from a lot of areas on the floor, even 3's, as well as posting up smaller PF's. While Fav is so limited offensively, and is really a good rim protector ala Dwight Howard.

Yes, just tell other teams that Kanter is the 4 so that they'll put their PF on him and not their C.

Now that's actually an interesting idea. But Evans would probably get burned by opposing starting SFs.

ok please explain how the future 5 starting are going to all be happy getting touches? show minutes played and with what lineup? Hayward at the 2 is a lot better then Hayward at the 3. Marvin is very efficient when he gets a chance to score. favors will want the ball more. kanter needs touches to be effective. burke's is a scorer.

Burke 25, burks 10, Clark 13
Hayward 20, burks 20, Rush 8
Williams 15, rush 20, Hayward 13
favors 30, Evans 18
kanter 30, Gobert 10, biedrins 8

I mean you have to feel as if Marvin's minutes, if he gets any, are gonna have to come from the 4 spot, what with Hayward, Rush getting most at the 3. And then why not throw Evans into the spot minutes there. He may have potential room for growth left, he's still a younger exciting player, he's not a burnt out old vet and if he sucks who cares? It's only spot minutes and it's the fun tank baby.

Lol, This whole "let's have a token bad starter so there's not a problem with touches" thing is like creating a terrible solution to a problem that might not even exist.

I agree with this. Until Favors proves me wrong, his game doesn't require a lot of touches. He is more a put back/dunker, than a guy who has post moves and needs the ball to operate. Let us remember that he openly said he didn't develop a go to move like Malone asked him to (Media Day interview w/ Locke). so basically, giving him the ball in mid range/ not right at the rim is a waste (check latest Zach Lowe article dal posted).
