Evans +22, Burks +21, Biedrins +11, Lucas+21, McGuire +18 and Gobert+8 for the leaders of the team. Virtually everyone else was close to even.

Yeah, our bench killed theirs. Our starters went two to two with theirs, but it is preseason, and they were on the 3rd game in 4 nights so I guess we should not put too much stock into that. In any event, The bench looked sharp.

Yeah big ups to Corbin with just the right mix of youth and vet in both the starting lineup and the bench. Jefferson provided a cool & calm head in the starting lineup. Biedrins and Lucas III anchoring the bench while letting Burks do his THANGGGGGGGGGG was a great move.

Big Pluses to our guys who dominated their right? Our second team looked like one with a lot of potential and theirs looked like a bunch of guys who were gassed and wanted to jack up threes. Alas it was a preseason game.

Evans shot looked great hopefully all that training with Horny and Hayward is paying off and he can hit consistently from outside 15 feet.

Burks looked like everyone's dream 6th man. Dominated the ball made shots and dished out assists all while going to the line a few times. Question is can the coaching staff convince him he is the man for that role. Sure Pops and Jackson can do it but can Corbin?

John Lucas has me afraid right now... if he can play like that and shoot like that 70% of the time we have a great backup. If he plays like that 20% of the time but those few games give him confidence to think he can do it 70% of the time we have a terrible backup. Time will tell.

Biedrins - Earned +2 all by himself. Then road the coattails of the bench.

McGuire - Played in mostly garbage time so he was the guy who played hardest. Hardest player in garbage time = most points

Gobert - He played ok, altered a few shots and blocked 1. He was not great on offense and really looked a little lost at times. Love the potential though.

I fixed that for you.

We should sign Dominic McGuire. 6-9 SF. Hard worker, definitely good defender. I always liked his game. Just throw in a minimum.

Is he a SF? ESPN has him as a PF...

He played SF for Wizards for several years.
I think he played at 4 when he was in Golden State which sounds normal considering their style.

Toronto started him at SF last year.

Jonas V-Brickniani-McGuire-Derozan-Calderon

Having him and Holliday indicates to me that Marvin and Rush are quite a ways from being ready to go.

I don't know anything about Holiday except the Jrue connection and him being a SG. Didn't watch the game or scrimmage.

If they release Dominic that would not surprise me. Glad Marvin's still injured. Otherwise he would be cut 90%.

I don't care much about Marvin but Rush has to recover. I love his style as well. :)
I'm not a native speaker. Easy to see...

Personally I'm terrified that Jefferson got the start and played 22 minutes, especially given how well Evans was playing.

I dont know anything about McGuire, but he looked like he has some talent...diamond in the rough type player? Someone fill me in.

So you would have started Evans at SF?

Yes. Start him at the 3. He can hit from outside and is probably a better perimeter defender than post.

This also makes our bench better. Gobert and Beandress are more suited for the post, plus it gets Gobert on the floor.

So you would have started Evans at SF?

In game one of the preseason? Absolutely.

Alternatively I would have considered letting Hayward play SF and starting Burks at the 2.

I honestly might have preferred the Jazz put a jersey on a sack of potatoes and run that out there rather than start Jefferson.

Go crazy. See what you got. One of the only things we know for certain is that Jefferson isn't in the long-term plans.

As long as the C5 get alot of minutes I am fine with 1-2 of them not being the starter. I also want decent time for Evans and Gobert. I think they should go all in on this youth movement and find out exactly what we have with Kanter, Favors, Gobert, Evans, Hayward, Burks and Burke. Maybe even add Rush to that list.

Well he played sf the other night, and looked good doing it. Hope he makes the team. He seems like a good defender, and a good replacement for the loss of Carroll as an energy guy, and defender off the bench.

No need to start jefferson

100% agreed.

The biggest plus in a night of a BUNCH of pluses, was the fact that Kanter and Favors finished with just 2 fouls a piece. Considering the way they SHUT THEM DOWN in the post, that was freakin huge.
