Trade - Marquis Teague

It has been reported, as some of you know, that the jazz had interest in Teague. Now with the Burke injury they might look back into it.

He's 6' 2" and has a 6' 7.25" wingspan. MAx vertical of 40.5

Teague was the 29th pick in the 2012 draft.

He didn't get a whole of playing time last year and averaged just over 2 points and 1 assist per 8 minutes, but had a strong showing in the SL (:P)

He looks pretty good and people say he has potential.

Now a couple of things:
1. What would we trade for him? I don't know salaries so what should we trade for him.
2. If we get him does he start while Burke is recovering? And when Burke comes back does Teague back him up? If we got Teague and he totally dominated with our starting unit do we have Burke back him up and battle it out?

I endorse it. Teague is actually younger than Burke with better length and athleticism. We'll need a better backup PG than Lucas or Machado in the long run anyways. Could turn out well.

Some possible scenarios.

-Marquis Teague for Jazz 2nd round pick (2014).
-Marquis Teague for Brandon Rush.

I don't know that I'd give up anything I like to get him, but one of GS's 2nd rounders in a couple years is fine to me. I certainly wouldn't send Brandon Rush or even a top-29 protected 1st rounder.

That's what I'm thinking, a future second would be fine with me. We don't really have any players that I would trade. The only 2 really available are Rush and Evans, but I like them. Doesn't Chicago need to dump some salary as well?

I would hesitate on Rush as well because he could fetch more at the deadline to a contender. Sometimes you have to strike when the iron is hot though. Teague seems like he is poised to breakout some. His brother Jeff did very little in his first two years in the league and broke out in year 3.

It's true, but then what scenarios do you put Burke and Teague in after injury.

Give them both about equal minutes but with Burke starting. Burke does not look ready for 30 minutes a game in the NBA, he needs strengthening before he can take the next step. Chris Paul looked like a bodybuilder next to him.

Then put lucas as the third string? Would we start Teague while Burke is injured?
I'd say yes, I don't want to see Lucas starting.

Teague for Croban. Wasn't Chicago interested in him a few years back?

jamaal tinsley is hundred times better than marquis teague.

i hope jazz sign tinsley

Problem is he would have been too butt-hurt after Lindsey didn't re-sign him and instead went with Lucas III... so he'll probably come in and play with a grudge... and you can't have that.

Actually Rush would not be possible to trade as it has not been 6 months since he was dealt from GS. Forgot about that.

Trading Rush for Teague (if it was possible) would be a ****ing disaster. Anything more than a future 2nd rounder is too much.
