The Utah Plan: What Derrick Favors's Extension Means for the Jazz - Zach Lowe (Grantland)

Nice to read that he thinks it's a pretty fair deal. I have faith in Favors, although I'm sure at times this year we'll be looking at the extension thinking uh oh.

He will need a lot of minutes to improve the little things on both ends of the floor.

Is there anyone close to as good as Zach Lowe? Srsly. The dude is on his own plane. Fan for life. Love his articles.

Completely on point. Dude's been putting in work regarding the Jazz for a bit now and each article is supremely written and professional....so much so, I've sent his editor an email lauding his writing and research.

Exactly. He pretty much always sees all the angles, good and bad.

Are we done now?

Nah, he waffles on too much for my liking.

I'm starting to think he gets paid per word not per piece.

Do you think this has more to do with your inability to focus your attention for a modicum of time rather than the length of his articles? Not trolling. I find a lot of times, articles are short and leave out pertinent details because the writer is writing for an audience of folks who have no attention span.

I wonder if Lowe thinks Gobert might replace Favors in the starting lineup? At the very least, I hope he read that nonwaffle thread.

It was like ihop bros. **** waffles.

About to say the same thing. It's not just that he's the best NBA writer I've read, he's leaps and bounds above whoever is second.

"They didn't get "nothing" for Jefferson and Paul Millsap. They got cap space, which they have since used to acquire two first-round picks from Golden State, and now to re-sign Favors without worrying about what it does to their cap sheet."

Thank you, ZL: How many national hoops reporters completely missed this important point? He must look around at his peers and wonder how he was surrounded by such idiots.
