Hello? McFly?So what's your excuse going to be when Fes finally subs in and the Jazz still look like garbage? I know somehow it's still going to be Jerry's fault, I'm just curious as to how.
First of all, Fesenko's performance this year has warranted more playing time, so I need no excuse. Niether does Jefferson's performance in pretty much every game of the season including this one. Second, Fesenko falls into the same parameters as all players do: you give them a minimal amount of PT, which is at least 8 or 10 MPG. If they deserve more, you give them more. If the converse is true, then that's how you adjust. In-game strategy 101; not exclusive to basketball. Sloan is inconsistent because he neither penalizes poor performance from Jefferson, nor does he reward net positive effectiveness from Elson and Fesenko. Keep doing the same thing, and expect the same results. The difference is that if Sloan keeps this up, he might not even get the same results. This Jazz might not have another chance at the Lakers in the playoffs (except maybe in the 8th seed). But this team has enough talent to be better than that--under the right leadership.
