Sexual Favors

Starting:

Burks
Hayward
Williams
Kanter
Favors

Why:
We are big and athletic at every position.

PG --Burks has the ball, which is where he is succesful, and we can really seee if the Spokane trip really enhanced his PG skills (and a 6'6" pg with a 6'10" wingspan and his athleticism seems too good to not keep trying for). Yes, both Burks and Hayward need the ball this year, but both have also said they really like eachothers games and love playing together, which leads to believe they could easily figure it out. Imagine two athletic slashers in the backcourt making plays and driving and dishing.

SG --- Gordon outrebounds other 2 gaurds easily here. He has a good view of court for playmaking, and can shoot over other 2 gaurds more easily. It's too much to ask of him to be the #1 option, and also conted with SF's like Durabt, Leonard, George, and Lebron (when he plays it) etc. Just reference end og season game against Lakers his rookie year.

SF -- Hate on Marvin all you want, but he plays good defense, and has the length to do it (6'8" with a 7'4" wingspan). He also doesn't demand ball to be effective (thus freeing it up for Enes, Hayward and Burks).

PF -- I know Corbin says he views the bigs as bigs, and mathcups will dictate their position, and I agree with that. I just put Enes here since he is the one with a softer touch, more post moves, and a better jump shot.

C -- Favors. He has Dwight potential.

Second Unit:

Burke
Rush
Jefferson
Evans
Gobert

2 PG -- From watching Burke, it is evident he still has a lot to learn, and the best place for him to learn without messing up the devlopment of our other young guys is playing in the second unit. His competition won't be as fierce here, and he can put together a nice sring of games. Seond unit will allow him to learn to run the offense (instead of just being a small 2 gaurd in starting lineup while Gordon plays Point Forward), find his shot, and adapt to the NBA pace.

2 SG -- Rush fits nicely here. In all of his interviews, Rush says he sees himself as 6th man, and that is what he wants to be for Utah. He has great size for a 3&D, who could be the recipient of some nice feeds from Burke, as well as help to cover up some of the rook's defensive mistakes.

2 SF -- R. Jefferson has surprised me so far this year, but I don't like him in starting lineup. I think fatigue will set in , making him less effective against starters. Anyways, I don't really care to watch too many of these guys that have no real future with the team.

2 PF -- Evans is small, yes, yes he is. But I think he is big enough for 2nd unit PF's, and want to see him get his minutes this year--where he's effective!

2 C-- Noone wants to see Beidrins. Jazz should just eat the contract and not try to reinvent him for a trade. I think our future would be better suited by developing Gobert now.

So this is my 10 man rotation, w/ most of minutes going to c4 and Burke.

My first main question is how is the wing and PG rotation done? Minutes and pairings during the game?

No doubt that rotation will get burn.

It's possible that if Burke comes back and is a more efficient playmaker, and shoots with more consistency than Burks, he will start.

Do you think closing games will be Burke, Burks, Hayward, Kanter, Favors?

That is an interesting question. Depending on the specific situation, I could see swapping Marvin in and out for defense/offense with Burke or Burks.

No doubt Burks will start over Burke, or no doubt that lineup will get burn?

I don't want Burks over Burke, but I do want Burks for 48 mpg until Burke returns.

This should definitely be tried but I doubt we start this line-up.

It doesn't seem like enough spacing, unless Williams improves his 3 point shooting and so does burks.

I'd switch Burks and Burke in your lineups, then start talking.

Agree.
I like Burks off the bench where he can be the man. Hayward just might lead the team in assists even with Burke (or Burks) in the game. I do like Williams at SF. With more ball movement, I think he can be a successful role player. He just needs a few touches, which he didn't get with Big Al.

I'd do Burke, Burks, Hayward, Favors, Kanter before your lineup. With Lucas/Tinsley, Jefferson, Rush, Gobert getting the bench time.

I would like to see Burks start at point before TB returns. If it works out, I could see him splitting pg mins with TB when rush returns.(we will be stronger @ the 2 so him coming off the bench to fill this role won't be as critical)

Stoked, I added minutes to the lineup. Colton, I love the idea of Burks learning PG, but am starting to believe he'll never be able to do it consistently.

Here is my updated rotation dream:

Starters:

Trey: 30 minutes
Gordon: 36 minutes
Marvin: 22 minutes
Enes: 36 minutes
Derrick: 30 minutes

Second Unit:

Burks: 18 minutes for Trey (some of those w/ Gordon where Gordon is Point-Forward)
Burks: 12 minutes for Gordon at the 2. Total = 30 minutes.
Rush: 20 minutes replacing Marvin at 3.
Jeremy: 12 minutes replacing Enes at PF - 6 minutes at SF. Total = 18 min.(love him, but isn't strong enough for extended minutes).
Gobert: 18 minutes replacing Derrick at center

DNP's for:

Lucas, Tinsley, Jefferson, Beidrins, Clark, and Harris.
