taking advantage of the tank

as we all know this is an epic year for tanking. a lot of teams cutting bait. I think it is secure that the jazz are not going to make the playoffs but there is hope for this team.

it is the cutting of the bait that interests me the most. teams are moving players to get worse and or prepare for off season signings.

jazz have assets with out giving up players.

- gsw pick
- gsw pick in 2017
- our own picks in 2015 and 2016
- expiring contracts of Williams, rush and Jefferson.

point is I keep reading how teams are looking to move players for the tank and the jazz need to take advantage of it. example: Evan turner and Thaddeus young are mentioned as looking to be traded.

there are more and I wouldn't mind picking up a more polished player for say the gsw pick this year.

just some thoughts not advocating any particular trade just wouldnt mind some young talent instead of an unproven rookie.

So how are the Jazz going to pay a player like Evan Turner or afford Thaddeus Young's contract and still sign Hayward, Kanter and eventually Burke. Jazz already gave Favors a $11 million contract.

they might be interested in Williams, rush or Jefferson but they don't have much I would like maybe one of the twins.

I'd trade them any of those guys for picks. Picks plus helps tank. Two birds with one trade.

By all means, let's trade away our picks for some mediocre vets and make a run at the 8th seed again. That never gets old, and hell, it just might work out this time and take us to the promised land. I'd say with a couple more posers/vets on the roster, we can probably give the spurs or okc a run for their money this time. Let's just give that strategy another 10 or 15 years to work out before we give up on it.
