What's new

when will we hear news of Kanter ?

I guess Kanter misses BigAl too! ahah

I think that even BIG-AL is laughing out hard, watching Marvin Williams playing above Kanter as a starter.

I rather watch BIG-AL playing Center and taking 25 shots a game, than Marvin Williams as starting five player over Kanter.

I think Atlanta is laughing too having Millsap and Carroll....watching Marvin playing 4!

Im not saying that Iam BIG-AL, all Im saying is no one has seen me posting on Jazzfans while BIG-AL was on the court. HI HI HI

This is ********.
Out of his first 14 games before Kanter got benched he did not deliver or had bad games only on 4 occasions. The rest is 50/50 mixture of great and decent performances stat wise.
On defense his rotations were poor but just as almost everyone's else. If you make Kanter on pick and rolls show 6 ft above three point line you are asking for trouble. Man to man he was indeed bullied but you can blame loss of muscles over the offseason.

The most logical thing to do was tweaking defensive schemes to cover his lack of agility. On offensive the ball stops in his hands because he has no one to pass FFS more often than not! It's Corfense what makes Kanter look like a ball hog. Al at least had someone to kick the ball out. Now I recall only Burks getting himself open.

Instead of trying to figure out what works best for Kanter Corbin chose fool's gold in W's now with Marvin as stretch four. After he got benched he indeed looks like crap but there was absolutely no reason for him to be benched. He is a 21 year old treated by a clueless coach as if he is a rookie on a winning team.

Sorry but you better check your stats. The Jazz offensive rating with both Kanter and Favors on the floor together no matter who they played with was between 81-90 points per 100 poss. There Defensive rating was 103-116 depending who else was on the floor with them. With Marvin playing the stretch 4 with Favors the Jazz offensive rating jumps to 109-126. and the Defense goes down to 98-104. Marvin is in 3 of the 4 top producing units the Jazz have.

Your telling me as a coach you would continue to roll out a line up that can't score and can't defend just because Kanter needs minutes. Thats is BS, no coach in there right mind does that. By splitting Kanter and Favors the Jazz offense is much better. I have no problem with Kanter coming off the bench and playing behind Favors. I don't think it hurts his development at all. I think Hayward coming off the bench last year helped him in the long run. All this crap that the guy needs to start and play 25 minutes no matter what is crap. If he is playing well ride him. If he his playing poorly play him less. That is what Corbin has done. He is doing his job by putting out the players that give him the best chance to compete right now.

The Facts and stats say that Kanter and Favors starting together wasn't working. So if your the coach who would you start and who would you sit if you were making the choice between the 2.

If your goal as coach is to pile up wins in regular season and nothing else then what Corbin is doing makes sense but confirms he is probably not the brightest guy out there.
However, if the goal is to figure out what we have in our young players, how they fit and develop them then what's been done to Kanter is beyond stupid.

Well, that's one way of looking at the stats. But never forget that the lineups with Kanter had JLIII at the PG, the lineups with Marvin had Burke.
So if you want to have a better idea how Favors - Kanter duo looks, why don't you try these lineups: Burke, Hayward, Williams, Kanter, Favors OR....... Burke, Burks, Hayward, Kanter, Favors (our wet dream)

Not true.... see hayward, gordon

How often did kanter and favors start together ALONG WITH TREY BURKE?
