What's new

Game: Jazz @ Orlando time: who cares

I remember reading the same lame *** ****ty posts for 3 straight years now.

"Yeah, big Al and Millsap aren't taking us anywhere, but enjoy jazz basketball!"

"Yeah, the 8th seed sucks, but enjoy jazz basketball!"

"Yeah, we need to rebuild, but enjoy jazz basketball!"

Where has that gotten us? Mediocre season after mediocre season.

The franchise clearly set a plan in motion in July to obtain a superstar via the 2014 draft. Playing the vets and "enjoying" jazz basketball right now will keep us from obtaining a much needed superstar. The rotations and veteran roster and a coaching trying out for new jobs is destroying that plan. I have no idea what the **** we are doing. Seriously, what the **** are we accomplishing this year other than ****ing us for another year? Guys, we need a superstar. We aren't getting that via free agency or drafting outside of the top 5. Which is exactly where we are trending.

Instead, we are looking at another role player.

Do we really need more Haywards on this team?

Ahhh... preaching to the choir!

You'd rather us get a pick in the 6-9 range just to see more wins over getting a top 3 pick? As someone who's "actually" a Jazz fan, I think I can say for everyone that we're sick of the bull$hit mediocrity we've had over the past few years, and see the next draft as a chance to get over the hump. Nothing worse than someone on Jazzfanz questioning another poster's fandom.

Newsflash, the Jazz have been mediocre since about 2000. Have you been rooting for the Jazz to lose all this years then? So we could get an number one pick?

I agree 200%!! It is difficult to understand in which direction is going this franchise!!

I mentioned this in another post, but I've stated before that the Jazz have been mediocre every year since Stockton and Malone with exception to 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. During those years, Jazz could have made moves but failed to do so. I've been upset with Jazz management from time to time and this is one of those times...

I agree with thriller. Jazz have a problem communicating expectations to their fans. They tell us to be excited for Al and the. Lose.

They tell us to be patient for the youth development with an eye towards the draft and then win, while some of the youth are parked on the bench and others in Reno.

I don't know if I should celebrate or complain. Was tonight good or bad.

So, you've then enjoyed, what....4-5 out of the past 30 seasons?

I miss the Deron, AK, Memo and Booz years!! (I miss Sloan too)

Having two of the greatest players of all time that still play at a high level isn't mediocre. Having a top-10 record in three of the four years that the Deron/Boozer Jazz went to the playoffs isn't mediocre. Having the best offense in the NBA isn't mediocre. Even making a conference finals isn't mediocre.

The Jefferson Jazz however, absolutely were. The Jazz have lost every icon associated with this franchise from those years. There was once a thing called Jazz basketball that died in 2010, with it's owner dying and it's legendary announcer leaving the year before, and with it's patriarchs leaving the year after. The Jazz are just a team now. And they're not good. The coach isn't good, and the players either simply aren't good or are very inconsistent (which is usually the difference between good and not).

Without a drastic course-altering from where the Jazz were for the last three years, the Jazz are/were heading for a treadmill without an end in sight. They altered course and suffered a lot of early losses because of it, but without sustaining that level of failure, then I'm not sure where this is all headed.

To be a Jazz fan is to be perpetually blue-balled. So either get us off or stop jerking us off.
