Game: Jazz @ Orlando time: who cares

Oh my god the tank! I must freak out because rooting for something affects the outcome!

Without a drastic course-altering from where the Jazz were for the last three years, the Jazz are/were heading for a treadmill without an end in sight. They altered course and suffered a lot of early losses because of it, but without sustaining that level of failure, then I'm not sure where this is all headed.

It's headed to a ****ing top-10 pick, that's where it's headed. People are acting like this team will win 35 games unless instructed to lose. People are also acting like a top 3 pick is a certain franchise player, whereas picks 4-10 all turn out to be scrubs. If the current core isn't good enough to get HC advantage in 3-4 years with a top 10 pick added this upcoming summer, then let's stop pretending we need to develop them and start trading them for players who ARE good enough. We're talking three number 3 picks, two number 9 picks and a number 12 pick. And they absolutely need a top-3 pick playing alongside them to succeed?

Lol. Come up with a list of players drafted between 4-10. Compare them to the overall 1-3 picks. Do it, I dare you.

Furthermore, you would rather have Marcus smart or Gary Harris over wiggins or Parker? You're a bloody fool!

Let's stop acting that drafting at 6 or 8 is just as good as drafting in the top 3. And what do we have to show for it? A few wins against a few crappy teams? Other than Burke, was tonight very entertaining? To me, it looked like 2 completely inept teams sucking. Whoever was less suck, won.

Dude, it's similar to how silly people were on these boards when they wanted us to make the playoffs as an 8 seed (to later be sodomized by the Spurs) rather than have a chance in the Lotto... I think we had a good shot of getting Lilliard in that draft too

I would be interested to see just how many times yamers has yammed this exact sentence. I am setting the over under at 300, and taking the over.

Ugli said it best
Yamers gonna yam.

Man, if we don't lose this game, I will be so afraid that the tank is broken.

Its been broken for quite a while now

Holy ****!!!!! The Jazz have won 7 games!

Time for a jazzfanz freak out session.......

Jazz have won 6 of last 13..... much better indicator of how this team end up :-(

Here. Easy as pie. I took the 1997-2006 drafts because they're the most recent without going into players who are still hitting their peak or haven't hit it.

Among the players drafted in the top 3 in those years, 14 turned out to be All-Stars. This is, of course, ignoring the fact that All-Stars include people like Kenyon Martin. Hardly a player worth tanking for. Let's look at just "franchise players." Guys you can build a team around. I've decided(unscientifically, I admit) to look at how many players have multiple All-NBA first or second team appearances.

4-10? Alright, let's take a look. 20 All-Stars and 5 "franchise players." Yes, bigger sample size, but we're not talking about probability of picking a player. We're talking availability of talent.

Crunch the numbers, if you'd like. You have a 47% chance of getting an All-Star in the top 3 picks. 53% chance of not getting one. You're more likely to get a Kwame than LeBron or Duncan.
