What's new

Game: Jazz @ Orlando time: who cares

Also, just for kicks. Last 10 MVP awards have been won by players drafted 1st, 1st, 13th, 9th, 15th, and 5th.

I remember reading the same lame *** ****ty posts for 3 straight years now.

"Yeah, big Al and Millsap aren't taking us anywhere, but enjoy jazz basketball!"

"Yeah, the 8th seed sucks, but enjoy jazz basketball!"

"Yeah, we need to rebuild, but enjoy jazz basketball!"

Where has that gotten us? Mediocre season after mediocre season.

The franchise clearly set a plan in motion in July to obtain a superstar via the 2014 draft. Playing the vets and "enjoying" jazz basketball right now will keep us from obtaining a much needed superstar. The rotations and veteran roster and a coach trying out for new jobs is destroying that plan. I have no idea what the **** we are doing. Seriously, what the **** are we accomplishing this year other than ****ing us for another year? Guys, we need a superstar. We aren't getting that via free agency or drafting outside of the top 5. Which is exactly where we are trending.

Instead, we are looking at another role player.

Do we really need more Haywards on this team?

We just got blownout two games in a row, man. A win against Orlando is not going to define the odds.

Even if we did get a 5th pick this year, we get that luxury plus we handle free agency. There is more than one option out of this than full blown tank, some of you think we were supposed to look like a completely sour team and that is just absurd.

Id love the luxury of Jabari or Wiggins, dont get me wrong, but a win here and a win there isnt going to destroy everything this early in the season.

Anybody hear that Burke scored 30pt?

Oh wait lemme try that again, stupid Jazz players playing to win that is total BS.

Players and coaches jobs are about winning I would expect them to try and win, the only thing I can be okay with is DL doing another trade like the GSW trade. Trading salary cap space for future assets and as a byproduct causing more losses.
People complaining veterans getting to much playing time, when Kanter was the only young player on the roster with a possible long term future on the team that didn't play and contribute to the win and the reason he didn't contribute is because he didn't contribute.

IND didn't tank to get their players they competed ended up in the lottery and look at where they're at, not that I'm saying the Jazz will be able to do the same thing, just that they could.

It's non stop bitching, not that I should be surprised.

Let me interject some positivity, if the Jazz win, yeah good the Jazz win. When they go back to losing yeah good lets get the good draft pick.

Burke is playing very well and looks like a legit PG of the future over coming poor summer league and injury. However he is a rookie so will struggle and contribute to many losses as well, so again yeah good draft pick.

Burks looks like he is showing signs of being consistent and a player worth keeping and being a part of the future.

Also, just for kicks. Last 10 MVP awards have been won by players drafted 1st, 1st, 13th, 9th, 15th, and 5th.

So half of the MVPs were given to players drafted in the top-5 which requires a bottom-2 record to assure?

I agree.

Only LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, Damian Lillard, Jamal Crawford and TREY BURKE have had 30 pts, 7 rebs, 8 ast in a game this yr

Players who 30-7-8 in 1st 50 games of career - Mitch RIchmond (2), LeBron, T Evans, C Person, B Daugherty, Penny, Blake. Ron Harper,

And @Trey_Burke3 is 1st rookie w/ 30/7/8 w/i his 1st 20 gms since Alvan Adams (PHX) had 35/12/8 at Lakers in 9th career gm on 11/14/75

Everyone wants the tank to get the franchise player to lead us to the promised land....maybe he is already here?

I think he'll be a solid player for us, but I wouldn't say he's a franchise changing player (even though he's changed the franchise since coming back.. lol). I kind of feel like those stats are somewhat meaningless. Like he's also the first player named Burke to get 30 pts, 8assists, and 7 boards. It's a really positive thing to see though.

So far we've seen that all star pg's don't win championships. I almost think they have to much exposure to score and distribute. I think a nice solid pg and a all star is the way to go, I'm just rambling though.

If he is, WHY NOT ANOTHER?

Most likely we will not win a championship in a while, and maybe never. All this talk about being great or terrible as the only viable options are taking much of the fun out of basketball. There will always be mediocre teams and there will always be Al Jefferons playing decent for their teams while having no shot at winning. It is still allowed to root for your team and enjoy watching them win.

Your list proves my point perfectly.
Lol. Quite the opposite. You've been owned.

Here, this may help you work out why:

Players from JimLes post who were drafted 1-3 during those years and won Championships:

Tim Duncan
LeBron James

Players who were drafted 4-10 during those years and won Championships:

Dirk Nowitzki
Dwyane Wade
Paul Pierce

All of these players won the Finals MVP trophy to boot.

So you don't even want to TRY and win a championship? Holy ****

Is there a LeBron or Duncan coming out of the draft this year? Or are you being obtuse on purpose?

YESSSSS!!!!!

That's the exact point! Where the hell have you been living the past few months? Or hell, year??? This draft is projected to be the strongest one since Lebron's!

If you don't think there are some future superstars in this draft then please watch Duke, Kansas, and Kentucky more often. Watch those 3 teams and come back and tell me whether you prefer:

A wins against Orlando which merely push us outside of the top 3.
B tanking right to give us the best chance at scoring a top 3 pick.

Who are we going to sign in free agency? Is lebron coming?

So you are saying that the 1st pick was the mvp more often than any other pick?
interesting.........

Two franchise player are better than one i always say

Pretty sure everyone not worried about the tank are just trolling us with thier posts........ they cant be that dumb

To clarify........ i have no problem with the people saying that the players and coaches have to try to win games (i agree) and that we shouldn't complain and that we should just enjoy the wins. (i disagree that we shouldn't complain because the future of our favorite team is being jeapordized..... but i understand that sentiment)

The one i have a problem with are the ones acting like a top draft pick doesn't matter or is not relevant (jim les)

I mean according to all of jim les stats and opinions if we do somehow win the lottery and get the #1 pick then we should ask a team in the 5-16 range if we can swap picks with them.
But of course teams with a pick in that coveted 5-16 range would never go for it cause they are smart enough to know that picks 5-16 are gonna be superior players to the #1 pick most likely
