Cavaliers send Anderson Varejao, Dion Waiters to Detroit.
Pistons send Charlie Villanueva, Greg Monroe to Utah.
Jazz send Brandon Rush, Enes Kanter to Cleveland.

Villanueva on last year of contract. We have option on Monroe.

Next years lineup...

Hayward, Burks
Parker
Favors
Monroe

I would - if the tank tank's then I was thinking Jazz should target Monroe as an RFA anyway.

Kanter will come around and play better; but Monroe's a legit lost post scorer. I'd trade a definitely for a maybe any day. Plus this is a kid I think Malone could really work with.

BTW - I'd give Charlie V his outright release immediately after the trade.
 
If we decide Kanter doesn't work with Favors I would hang on to him until the draft. Build his value for the rest of the season then use him to try and move up.

I don't like it for a few reasons - 1) Monroe makes us a better team which hurts the tank 2) With an improve Jazz team the possibility of getting Parker decreases. 3) There is no guarantee that the Jazz get a wing player (Parker, Exum and Wiggins could be off the board so they are left with Randle or Embiid which makes Monroe a backup and he doesn't want to be a backup. 4)Monroe wants to get paid big time.

Well, yeah, that's why I said if "the tank tanks". If the Jazz **** this thing up and find themselves somewhere in the neighborhood of the 8th to 12th worst record after the all-star break, then this is a solid deadline trade.

If Jazz stay in the top 3 neighborhood as far as worst records are concerned, then you have to stand pat.

Either way, I don't think this is a deal you make today.
 
If I'm trading Kanter I want Waiters. Monroe is gonna get at least 12 mil from someone next summer, and I don't want that team to be us.
 
Kanter has the potential to be better than Monroe. Monroe went through 4 years of college and is in his 4th NBA season. I'd keep Kanter until at least the last year of his rookie deal.
