What's new

Gamethread: The jeffersons A Utah today last tiem we get to see him for the year/season

just wish trey and favors pick & roll takes off. favors fumbled an easy pass to day. if he caught that he may had a chance to throw it down

There was one toward the end of the game that looked pretty dang good. Favors barely missed the shot and I thought he was fouled. Those two will be fun to watch. Hopefully Favors can extend his shot out to 18 feet and try to get an offensive game similar to Lamarcus Alldridge (maybe not LA of this year, but that would be amazing)

You mean, a rookie after a month of playing in the NBA is not holding his own against the best PG in the world? Yeah, a real disappointment.

and 12pts/6asts wasn't that bad. and it wasn't even about cp3's D. trey just kept turning the ball over last 2 games. hell he played much worse against the lakers.

so far trey played good(rookie standard) against

tony parker
mike conley
damien lillard
isaiah thomas
patrick beverly (good defensive pg)
kemba walker (he is playing pretty well this year)
ty lawson
goran dragic

i ain't gonna complain. 1 bad game against the best PG ain't gonna change the fact that trey is for real.

If you believe all of the ranking systems, Kemba Walker is a top 10 NBA point guard. If Trey is beating him up, that is *^&*&^ OUTSTANDING!

It's not the points per game, it's the minutes per game. Jefferson played 40 and Marvin played 34 minutes tonight. They led the team in minutes played. Hayward played 28, Burks played 27, Kanter played 13, Evans played 13, Garret played 12 and Gobert was a DNP. If you take those 74 minutes from Marvin/Jefferson and distribute them to those 6 players mentioned, I wouldn't complain about the results at all.

I happen to think it is more valuable to use those minutes to give young players experience than to lean on veterans to lead this team to pointless wins over bad teams. Their box score is irrelevant compared to minutes distribution.

Iam not about saying that they are playing the right amount of minutes, IAM just pointing out that the Jazz are not winning because of this two players, they are winning because their is true talent inside this team. In my mind everyone who is not seeing this is retarted. Marvin Williams or Jeffy are not players winning NBA games, Jeffy is not the same he was since 2008 and Marvin is nothing then a 5th Option on this team.

They could play less, I do not thing that this would make us worse. But, also I truly believe that some Veteran leadership is not that bad for this team, jes 40 and 34 is to much, but I think It´s not that bad to have solid role players like Jeffy and Marvin inside for 22 minutes per game.

Trade Richard Jefferson. Blockhead Corbin can't help himself from playing this hack 40 minutes while the better, more talented and more efficient Alec Burks plays only 27.

I actually like Marvin and wouldn't mind seeing him around for a few more years for the right price. But if we can get anything good out of him now then trade away.

Hayward was awful again tonight. I'm beginning to think trading him might be the right move.

It has been frustrating to watch Corbin to put back the starters early in the 4th quarter to try to win the game at all costs.

So I am confused. Do we want Corbin to tank and play the more inefficient less talented player (in this case jefferson over Burks) or not?

We want Burks to play 40 and the less efficient Harris to play 25. Jefferson is not a world beater, but he's not making the team worse.

He is making the team worse than Burks playing 40. I agree that Harris should be getting the time over Jefferson if tanking is the goal.

Favors/Gobert
Kanter/Biedrins
Hayward/Harris
Burks/Clark
Burke/Lucas

Each of those bench guys should be getting 20 mpg. Jefferson, Williams and Evans should be the odd men out. Sucks for Evans as I really like him. But he is not good enough to replace Favors or Kanter and not bad or new enough to compete with Biedrins and Gobert for the tank. No mans land.

I don't think that tanking needs to be the main goal even. I want the young players to get good experience. I want Burks to play against starters to see if he can make it as a starter, or if he is a 6th man. I'm OK with Hayward moving to SF (since he is playing like crap as a SG anyway). I want Kanter to have meaningful minutes. I want someone other than Jefferson shooting a 3 pointer in the last few minutes of the game. When Burke, burks, Hayward, Favors, Kanter make a big shot at least its exciting because they will be with the team in the future. When Jefferson does, it does nothing, other than make the pick worse for next year.
