Falling out of love with Al Jefferson

Dude has been awful, especially tonight. My issues with Jefferson are as follows:

-He doesn't box out
-He stops and looks for a push shot when there is a wide open lane
-He doesn't box out
-He doesn't use the glass
-No effort
-He doesn't box out
-He has been slow to learn the plays
-His passing leaves a lot to be desired
-He is a lot slower and less versatile than I originally thought

Have to agree with you. If he is still playing this way at the all-star break there will be a witch hunt after him.

Agree on all points...may I add always loses sight of ball on D and is always late as a helper...just a huge disappointment in the way he's competes right now

The Jazz are trying to teach an old dog new tricks. Or trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. This is a mistake.

Al Jeff isn't going to transform into anything he hasn't been. What he can do is a be a primary scorer. That's it. Make him that, and the Jazz will be fine. The simple answer is to bring him off the bench and let him go to work as he's always done.

Either that or he'll just end up another Andrei Kirilenko: Misused by the coaching staff and maligned and hated because of it.

- Misses more open 3 footers then Harpring did layups.
- Other players just toss him out of way if he happens to even be in the correct position
- Doesn't jump for rebounds... he seems to wait for them to fall in his hands.

As nonsensical and illogical as it may seem:

A bench-riding, ineligible Carlos Bozzer > a 'hard-working' Dimwitted Little Al Geofferson.

The guy is dross and has actually looked WORSE on sets over the last few games.

Who is that idiot that recently gave Catch 'n' Jack Smiles and his fam flack on FB? Perhaps he should hunt down Little Al on some social networking site and give him some similar treatment.

Watches players while they drive in front of him. As if curious about the outcome.

I'm glad OP can admit it, learn from his mistakes, and move on. See many of you loved Jefferson as soon as he was traded. Now you see him for what he really is (not Boozer). It's equivalent to being obsessed over a girl because she looks good she's what you think she is, then you find out she isn't. OMG KORVER JUST MADE A RIDICULOUS THREE.

Boozer wasn't great either.

I think the coaching staff does need to make a move, but I don't know what that is exactly. I think what makes the bench good is that they run and play with energy, throw Jefferson in that group and the high energy goes down the crapper. I really don't understand why Fes didn't get Elson's minutes tonight and a good chunk of Jefferson's too.

Just because Jefferson may be a mistake. Doesn't make the decision to ditch Boozer a bad one. In fact it was still a good decision.

I think Jefferson's problem boils down to intelligence. He's just not very bright. I think he's easily the least intelligent player on the roster—including Fesenko and Miles. If he and Robert Whaley were to hang out I'm not sure who'd be the side-kick.

Boozer was always intelligent, but he was just an ***.

Those interior passes were the worst thing about his performance tonight. Deron probably couldn't have hit those. He just needs to show a little patience and kick the ball out or try to make something happen instead of playing 500 with the defense.

People loved Jefferson so quickly because he was not Boozer. Hell, when there were rumors of us getting Al Harrington this board was all excited, again for the same reason, not Boozer.

Losses make this site retarded.

Yeah, I'm sure it's just 'losses.'

Has nothing to do with HOW we played or our continual ineptitude against most conference teams or our incessant flaunting of our deficiencies.

It's just a plain ol' 'loss' that is getting to people. Nothing more.
