Why is everyone down on Aaron Gordon?

He seems to have very good court vision and has enough speed and handles to play small if he needs to (which Derrick Williams can't) but also can go inside and dominate.

Did you watch Derrick Williams? Why would anyone compare an extremely athletic but short big that isn't good at shooting with a pedestrian athlete that was one of the most efficient (and versatile) scorers in NCAA history?

Judging from the eye test at the game, I would seriously doubt that he is 6'6" He looks taller than that on the floor. He is REALLY young so I don't suspect that he is done growing. If he grew into 6'10" he would be a monster. The local rag has him at 6'9".

He looked and played taller than Shawn Kemp Jr. (how many of those are we going to see?) who is also listed at 6'9" although Kemp had a bigger lower torso so he probably weighs more. Arizona's front line towered over Washington, although on paper only Zeus should have. . . So either Washington's press guide is exaggerating (happens) or Gordon is on the plus side of 6'7".

Because I'm not comparing freshman Gordon with Sophomore Williams. Also, Arizona is the number 1 team in the country and is a much better team than the regular season team that Williams played on (BYU feasted on them 2 years in a row) Gordon has a lot to do with that. Williams showed up big in the elite eight run, but teams were able to shut him down in the Regular season at times (BYU did.) I haven't seen anyone do that to Gordon yet. I'm excited to see what he does against Stanford who has legit big men. Although I probably won't be able to see it unless I go because of dat stupid PAC12 network doe.

as far as predraft number goes derrick williams put up near blake griffin number. 34.5 vert, 3.23 sprint, 19 bench press, and 11.03 agility. and he was measured at 248lb with wider wingspan than blake griffin by 2 inch. longer standing reach too.

so i wouldn't say derrick williams is a pedestrian athlete.
