Trey Burke, Jazz
Burke had the ultimate nightmare for an NBA point guard against the Clippers, hurting his team with three turnovers in the last three minutes of a tight game (two of the turnovers came with the Jazz down by only two points). Missing shots is one thing, but not getting one off at all is a far worse transgression. They were mistakes made out of aggressiveness more than carelessness, but he had six turnovers total in the game, which came on the heels of a seven-turnover game in a win over the Lakers.

But Burke showed what he's made of in his next game, committing only one turnover in Utah's win against Charlotte. He finished December with a better than 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio, while making 36.8 percent of his 3s. For a point guard who just turned 21 and missed a lot of prep time in the preseason due to injury, those are eye-popping results. Utah is 10-8 in games in which Burke has played more than 20 minutes, 1-16 when he hasn't.

Damn it Trey.

If you want to win a championship someday, you are gonna have to let the Jazz lose some games this year. Just sit out 15 games with a fake injury.

Do it Trey. I know you are reading this.

Is this a good thing? Two weeks ago some folks around here had him as a bust because he didn't turn the ball over.

People out east are hard for MCW. He'll prb win ROY, barring Trey keeping up this recent surge. It would be great to see a Jazzman win it, but not at the cost of ****ing the J's out of Jabari.

What a ****ty draft last years was

What a ****ty draft last years was

Nice that we got one of the actual players out of it, especially where we were drafting. . .Of course by next year half the board will be screaming about how we screwed up the draft by not getting MCW and that he was their pick from the start.

So against ho-hum defense he doesn't turn the ball over and against aggressive solid defense he turns it over a lot. Sounds a lot like a rookie to me.

Nice little nugget here re Burke:

Q: Who's the best young player you've seen this season?

Rivers: "One guy I really like that I've seen so far is [Utah Jazz rookie] Trey Burke. He knows how to play, can shoot it and is competitive. I've been impressed with him since he came back from that injury."
