Eat Crow! haha. Seriously though 37 points, 11 boards 7 assists and did i mention he shot 13/16. Hayward is showing more and more that he can be a 2nd option on a good team (and it looks like Kevin Pelton agrees).

According to Bill Simmons either by trade or in the off season, makes sense because they have Brad Stevens as their coach.

I'd trade Hayward for their 1st round pick but I doubt the Celtics would do that.

That is so lame!! trade Hayward for a 1st round out of the top 8. Isiah Thomas could do a better job than that. trading a proven high level talent for a freakin lottery pick out side the top 8 is honestly something David Kahn would do. It's.. it's... oh man, its so bad I cant describe it... the lameness of it is ineffable. Seriously, as Locke noted today, even if Hayward does get a huge deal, it wont even affect our ability to re-sign this years upcoming draft pick at all. the deal will end with our 2014 lottery pick's rookie deal. and seriously, its not like we are gonna land a superstar via free agency.

And Numberica, I dont even want to hear it. Dont hate, dont hate. Dont kick against the pricks. You have a scrupulous track record for being way off in your predictions regarding Hayward. Just saying! (I'm partially jocose in my intention)...(goes for you too The Jazz Fan)

HottieNickkk, your wrong man. simple as that. It sucks sometimes... you know... to be wrong... but you are.

Zulu, can I get an Amen!!

I was listening to Bill Simmons podcast, and he said Utah would probably ask for two first rounders from Boston this year. They would ask for Boston's own pick, and the pick that Boston owns from BKN/ATL (It is the better pick of those two teams picks). Honestly, if we got two first rounders that both had the potential to be in the lottery, how do you say no to that? If you think Hayward is going to get a max offer, and you don't want to pay him max money, then you do that trade in a second. If you do want to match a max offer for him, you at least have to entertain that trade, as you could potentially get two all stars for trading Hayward.

Gordon knew he had to turn up because KD was in town, and almost dropped 50 on us (again).. just needed to remind teams that he's getting his raise, regardless! he'll go back to 13-17 point nights.

Btw, its all about ABCs man, A-ALWAYS B-Be C-Closing. ALWAYS Be Closing!

but the max money really does not even effect us. It is the deal after this deal that would be tough to swallow. And Atlanta will get the Nets pick if its the lowest. Both picks would be out of the top 8 so what are we hoping for? one of those picks to turn into a legit second option on a really good team.? for a guy that fits the market? is a good dude/locker room guy? a guy that wants to win? a guy that plays hard every night? WE ALREADY HAVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If Burke keeps playing great, then he is going to be a max player as well, so Favors, Hayward and Burke will be like 40 million dollars in salary cap room, plus Burks at about 8 mil, Kanter at about 8 mil, that does not leave a lot of room in the mean time. Hayward getting a max deal this offseason from the Jazz will very much affect our flexibility. I don't think anybody thinks he is actually a max player at this point, but it may be what it takes to keep him.

The max at Psychward is ugggggliii. Just say no to that, because aint nobody got time for that! I hope he does play his best, so we can possibly ship him to a bottom team for a draft pick at the deadline.

All of them have the potential to be great. None of them are at max level imo. If Hayward keeps playing as he has in January (so far) the Jazz wil match any offer he receives. Hayward is a RFA right? I want Hayward in a Jazz uni the next 4 years.

Hay is the closest to max level. He may just get a max offer. The offer Simmons said he might get from Boston is like 4 yrs 58 mil. That is pretty much the closest thing to max you can get without a max deal.

He had a career night. Great for him. The problem is that in one of his next few games he will score 9 points on 3-12 shooting and have 4 TOs in the process. Hayward is inconsistent and not worth the money he wants. He should be traded.

I do not want him traded. He is inconsistent because he is a fantastic Robin that the organization is making play the role of Batman. I am not comparing the players as equals in this example but Hayward could be to Parker what Pippen was to Jordan. That stellar second man.

I think he is more likely a Batgirl than a Robin. I don't think even in the future that he will be a clear cut number 2 option. More likely a number 3.

Gordon has played great all season but his shooting has been off more than it has been on. This has to do with tired legs. When good shooters get jello legs they do not shoot well. Gordon has been run ragged until recently I do not think it is a coincidence that he is shooting better after getting some time off.

Locke said that he had run the most miles on the court by 7 miles over any player in the NBA at the end of the year. Now he has got some days off and is not at the top of that list and is shooting better. Gordon started well got overwhelmed, worn out and struggled. Now is getting more confident and has his legs under him and some rest. I think through the end of the season he will have some ups and downs but just like every season his shooting percentage will go up in the second half of the season and he will play better.

I'm not a Gordon Hayward hater, but I'm not going to ignore the reality that he has shot under 30% in 10 games this year. Another six between 30-40%. That's way too many bad games for me. He is progressing and last night was proof of that. What impressed me the most is that he was clutch. I have quickly become comfortable with Trey in clutch. Last night was the first time I can think of that Hayward took over a game.

Given the above, it wouldn't break my heart if he were moved for the right deal since I'm of the opinion he is not worth the max.

History has shown that Hayward has slowly progressed in every capacity that the organization has put him in. By March/April he will be playing like a number 1 option (19-22 ppg, shooting in the mid 40% range). This doesn't mean he IS a number 1 option.

And this is why I've said all along he'll get the money he wants as an RFA. And this is why Utah needs to tank. Worst case scenario is Jazz are handcuffed into giving a ton of money to Hayward while NOT getting an impact player out of the draft. This way we spend the next 3-5 years blaming Utah's middle-of-the-road success on Hayward's bloated contract - a la Kirilenko and Ostertag before him.

My thoughts exactly. Granted Hayward is better than Miles was, but please wait until after Hayward has shown he can produce consistently before starting threads like this.

Exactly. Agreed Hayward is clearly better overall, but we've both seen the inconsistency. Can he become a #1 or even an championship level #2? Right now he looks like a good #3 guy to me. Let's hope he proves us wrong, because everyday our dreams of Jabari fade.

So who is the number 2 on the Pacers? Is Hayward any worse than that guy? Most think they are a championship contender, and Hayward is probably better than anyone but Paul George on their team.
