If the Jazz get a top 5 draft pick its going to be really hard to keep all these young players. At least one of them probably won't be in a Jazz uniform long term. So which guy do you see most likely getting the shaft?

haha i was posting on my phone in the middle of night on the toilet and this is what happens.

help me mods. move this shizzle

Wiggins - Burks/Hayward
Parker - Kanter (too lazy to explain logic.. but its solid)
Randle - Kanter
Embiid - Favors (I know this will be wildly unpopular)
Exum - Hayward

Yes, I know this is a lazy post, but its an experiement to see if we can legitimize a beantown thread.

I suspect Hayward's future with the team is entirely dependent on what kind of offer Boston or another team throws his way rather than on anything related to the draft.

It's somewhat clear that if Hayward gets a max offer the Jazz are not particularly inclined to match.

The Jazz have no problem with the cap until Burke, the '14 and '15(hopefully there is no) first rounders have to get paid.
This year will be a considerable jump in the cap. Another is coming 2017(1 year after new contract kicks in). So the Jazz can match pretty much everything as long as it's a 4 year without a ETO/PO if they feel they want to include Hayward regardless if that's his real value or not. Until the Jazz aren't winning they won't get good FAs without "small market extra millions". So they can commit the capspace to Hayward or whatever and go from there easily.

No way Jazz keep Hayward at 10+ mil if they get Wiggins or Parker. If it is Embiid or Randle then Kanter is out. If it is Exum then we are all fu...ed.

Favors for life.....srs. That all. He works hard and has improved and I have no doubt he loves the dimmer lights of sic. He will be here as long as we want him here.

Sorry, we aren't getting any of those players when we draft in the #8-10 spot.
But Kanter is out. He'll be part of a deal for a stretch 4 along with one of the expiring contracts. If Lindsey were really high on him, he'd insist Corbin give Enes playing time. We're destined to have a starting five next season of Hayward, Favors, Burke, "Insert Vet's name here" and either RJ or MW, whichever will come cheapest. I've really lost faith in and respect for Lindsey. I supported the tank, but not at the expense of STILL not developing the young players while, yet again, giving a lot of of playing time to veterans who either shouldn't or won't be here next season and beyond. Of course, I guess if the decision has already been made to jettison Kanter and Burks, then the playing time decision is wise. They have some trade value because of where they were picked and the flashes they've shown. RJ, MW and Rush had zero trade value apart from their expiring contracts. Now Jefferson and Williams could conceivably be dealt to contenders for a late first and some junk expirings to match salaries. And Rush is now being eased back in hopes he regains his shot and some team wants him as a shooter.

Did not see option for teh Crobins.

Jazz head coaches get lifetime contracts. They have to decide to step down like Layden and Sloan. In 20 years, Ty will hand the reigns over to Brad Jones. Check that...Brad will go on to be a successful head coach somewhere else. Ladies and gentleman, introducing the new head coach of your 2030 Utah Jazz..................................Alex Jensen!

Favors is already locked up though. This was more about who's not getting an extention. But I guess we could trade Favors.

keep Favors and embiid

Favors stays. Even if we draft Embiid or Randle.

Hayward we probably keep even if we draft Parker or Wiggins. We can afford to slighty over pay him. I see the Jazz matching a 11mil per year deal. Or even just offering it to him.

Burks and Kanter are the odd players out simply because they have some weaknesses. But that also might mean that they can be had for cheap.

We can still sign a team full of players and not worry about the cost and what will happen with Burke and our pick this year. By the time they are to be extended, these players now will have expiring deals and we will have some flexibility in what we can do and who we can keep.
