Haven't you heard Boler and Harp talk about missing the easy two on our end, and the opponent hits a three on the other end? They call it a 5 point swing.

....X's two turnovers....is a 10 point swing! Let's settle this right here and now! We've cut back on our turnovers....and our winning percentage continues to go up! Turnovers = loses! Fewer turnovers = wins! Boozer on the team = more turnovers! Boozer off the team = less turnovers! Thus, Jazz minus Boozer X's 2 equals an 8 point swing!
 
This "swing" is an artificial quantifier. Think of it this way:

If there's a plate of cookies, and you were going to eat one, but are interrupted by your mom asking you to clean up your Barbie dolls from the stairs, then your brother comes along and eats 2, is he suddenly 3 cookies up on you?
