Do You Think Kanter is Scapegoated?

Broncos benched thier starting running back for having off games.

Eagles benched michael vick for having off games.

Kanter was a starter and was benched as well you silly goose

Last year hayward started and then was benched

TBH, I don't care about this example or that which doesn't apply to Kanter. The guy struggles bad and needs more development time on the bench a la Burks last year and Hayward in the past.

BTW, Trey is a rookie and a baller. I have no idea how you are seriously advocating benching him b/c Kanter gets sat and should be held to the same standard.

And I reneged that line of reasoning doe. Why do you think Kanter deserves extra latitude in comparison to Burke/Hayward/Burks/Favors/whoever?

He deserves the same. He hasn't, and never has been treated the same. Can you honestly say that Burke and Hayward aren't playing atrociously right now? They are in horrible slumps, and yet they are still playing, and starting.

Corbin has something personal against Kanter. It is shameful the way he is being treated.

It is better he changes team for the good of his career.

Corbin just knows what I have known since he was drafted. He is a bench player at best in the nba. He is all hype and have never lived up to that hype. Never has improved his game

Dunno. What's the politically correct answer? I don't want to think for myself so I'll go with that one.

Toronto scored 94 points and won by 15. Burke and Hayward were a combined 7-25. Maybe, just maybe, defense wasn't the reason we lost.

Total points means nothing. The pace of the game was incredibly slow. 94 is a LOT of points at an 80 possession pace. Toronto's offensive rating for the game was 117.9, which is 8 points worse than the worst defensive team's average, which happens to be the Jazz.

Burke plays because a D-Leaguer and Lucas play behind him. Kanter gets fewer minutes because Williams and Evans have played better over the course of the season. There isn't a metric where Kanter is superior over Favors.

Kanter is on pace to have the sixth most minutes on the team, behind the other core 5 and Jefferson. I'd say given where Kanter is in his development, that's the proper amount of minutes as the second most used big. Corbin isn't the issue in this case. Given the talent level on the team compared to its age, Corbin comes across as an average to slightly below average NBA coach, better than many and not as good as many.

I was at the Toronto game and it was a bad game all around. We played really bad defense. Kanter got worked in the beginning by Valunchunas(however you spell his name). Everytime Val touched the ball he scored on Kanter. He was yanked because of that. Gobert played better defense, but sucked offensively. That being said the rest of the team played bad defense too. All of Toronto's points seemed to be easy baskets, and we weren't passing the ball well when we had it.

Overall it was a bad team game. Kanter should get blamed equally for this loss, the only positives were Burks' fantastic game off the bench

extra latitude is not what EK needs.
He needs an honest evaluation and for that he has to play more!
He is not worse than Hayward TBH!
Give him the due credit Franklin.
He will most prolly be gone so all this talk is moot!
Jazz cannot afford him, after Hayward's contract, methinks.

Franklin and Vermin are both prejudiced against Kanter. If you don't have the courage to admit that both Hayward and Burke sucks hard lately, then you are not impartials.

Why nobody talking about Burke and Burks defensive shortcomings? Because they contribute on offense? The same is doing Kanter but he is harshly criticized.

Kanter doesn't play active defense every night but it does not seem to me that other players of team do it with consistency. They won't play the playoffs, so what is their motivation to play defense every game? To save Corbin? Contract year?

Corbin will be evaluated at the end of the year taking into account the team's defense. So Kanter is clearly the scapegoat because Corbin thinks only to save his a**.

Anyway Corbin is free to take his decisions but he should not legitimate his power only with one player and a real coach should be fair will all players.

I believe that the young players are fed up with Corbin too, it would be licit if they want another coach next year.

Most likely Kanter will decide to not continue with Jazz and not the contrary.

If he will succeed with another team then I would like to hear your opinions. (Franklin & Co.)

I'm still waiting for him to get tougher. I hope he doesn't chicken-out of contact plays as his career rolls on and end up like Memo who became a 3 point shooter in Utah. You gotta use that body kiddo.
