Zoo kills Giraffe and performs a public autopsy in front of children.

I wish I would have been there to see the autopsy. When are you EVER going to get a chance to see and learn about what's on the inside of a freaking giraffe? Never. Sounds like they killed it ethically and used every part of the carcass, so BFD. Sounds to me like they tried to take a bad situation (having to euthanize an animal) and made it as positive as they possibly could have, including teaching children about the biology of the animal, as well as providing food for other animals.

BeanClown's wife would be proud.

Except if you read the article other Zoos were willing to take the perfectly healthy animal......
 
I read that a single zoo offered. I imagine that it wasn't cost effective to do so, or it probably would have been done. I don't care enough to research it, and frankly, I wouldn't care if the zoo decided they wanted to kill it just for funsies.
