Official Trades that are Official Thread

Lakers got Meeks and Farmar back, both who help them win more than Blake. The Lakers have Farmar/Marshall at PG which is decent.

They can still win games, especially when Young and Gasol come back.

Blake trade was a cost-cutting move more than a tank move, IMO.

Philly also got Earl Clark. Philly is criminally bad. I hope it catches up to them. Although Silver would say there is no evidence that they are trying to lose, I would ask him to show evidence of Philly trying to win.

I like this quote I found today on hoopshype...

Amazing how NBA GM's get credit these days for essentially giving away assets under the guise of "creating financial flexibility."

Lakers have traded Blake to GSW for Bazemore and Brooks.

How could the Lakers trade the face of their franchise? I had a good laugh every time I saw an advertisement/mention featuring Dwight v. Steve Blake in the days leading up to the Rockets/Lakers game last night on ESPN.

Haven't we all been saying Marvin and RJ should be traded for a bag of chips so Utah can lose more games?

Smart move by Philadelphia. Not that we were going to catch them anyway. Cleveland is riding a hot streak and wants to make the playoffs. Remove Cleveland as a threat, but insert Detroit. Pistons have been stomped 2x by Charlotte. They're definitely in tank mode.

Thought of this earlier this morning, and wondered if we could get Evan Turner or Young for Marv or Jefferson.

Philly supposedly willing to accept a 2nd-round pick for Turner. Jazz certainly have a higher 2nd to deal than any playoff contender. But why? He's a terrible shooter. You'd like to think this year is a slump, but he's had four years and none have been all that good. And for his salary - whatever it will be next year (as a RFA) - there are probably better players to be had in free agency. Jazz could likely get a comparable and much cheaper player with the GS pick (if they don't get a wing with their first).
