Right now he is playing very good though so it seems a little haterish to bring up a bunch of things wrong with his recent play.
Lots of other guys on the jazz to criticize right now imo

I mean burks has arguably been the best player on the jazz lately but some posters want to talk about a turnover, or how one demensional he is, or how bad of a passer, or how selfish, or how bad of a shooter he is.... all while ignoring his positives

Still think its funny that some still think Fish and I have said Burks is on the Dwade and Harden level.

All we say is that he has shown that he has a similar skill set and in time once given the complete green light we will see exactly where he falls….. Fish and I are optimistic and the past 2 3months have given us this great hope. So don't hate..

Haha, ScorpJazz, you crack me up. You say Alec is one dimensional, but did you know that, according to synergy sports, he's the 3rd best isolation defender in the NBA in terms of Opponent points per possession? Alec has made some big strides and while I could understand the argument that he can't be a legit #1 option, I can't see how he could not be a legit #2 option. He has that kind of potential. I think he's shooting the 3 at around 36% and if you take away his half court heaves at the end of quarters, he is shooting at about 37% from 3. Also, he has an elite skill and that is getting to the rim. And to say that Hayward has a better chance of being a #2 than Burks makes me think you don't watch the team very often. Hayward is a good all around player but he does not have the offensive ceiling that Burks has. This is why Burks scored 9 points in a row in the closing minutes of our game vs the 76ers. We should have lost that game were it not for Burks ability to get to the rim.

Worth noting that Burks also shoots a fantastic % in the restricted area.

No it was asked if and if yes why we accept that guys like Harden coast on defense but moan about Burks doing the same. And I answered that from my perspective. I didn't compare them or voice expectations. I just described the difference in perception that I see.
And if I construct a balanced team I want 1 superstar, 2 guys that are around all star level, a deep bench and valuable starters.
So I want one of my top3 to be the playmaker. Mostly that's the Point Guard. So the likelihood of landing a bawse point guard is very high, who can create for himself and others. And I want my point guard to play the right way. Then I want 1 elite big and 1 elite wing. That means that I want a 2nd servicable role player wing who is very good at playing defense. Since I don't think Alec Burks is my elite wing and he doesn't play defense the way I'd like my championship team role player wing to play defense I don't want him in my team. Because I might have someone like Parker or whatever next to him. And I don't want my #1 or #2 offensive option to guard their best wing player, but rather be average at guarding average wings. If my #2 or #3 player happens to be a true 2 way player then I might be like: Yo Alec I make an exception for you. But list me all complementary borderline allstar wings that are good on both ends?

If he misses shots, turns the ball over, blows a play, his belief in himself never changes, and he always plays the same way. By contrast, Hayward is highly self aware, passes any time he gets remotely close to the rim, and has lately been trying to pad his stats with rebounds. As to the latter, he's been noticeably absent on the break as a result.

This is true...... if we could only fuse Hayward and Burks together, we would have a legit all-star and a guy we could possibly give the max to.
