Utah Denied A Wet Bandit Trade???!!

With that said, I'm a huge Marvin fan, and I'd love to see him finish his career out with the Jazz. He brings a lot to the table, and he'll only grow more valuable with the recent trends of today's NBA.

However, a player like Marv is more replaceable than a chance at drafting elite talent-- so you gotta deal with odds, and figure out what's best.


I trust Dennis Lindsey, so I'm not gonna overreact about this-- but on first impression, I would easily trade Mavin Williams for an early-20th pick + salary filler.

Last week I said that Marvin isn't just playing well cuz it's a contract year-- he's an extremely talented player, and he has had even better production in his past.

I mentioned nothing about how he fits into our long-term plans, or whether I'd be okay with trading him.
 
The biggest thing to me, is that I don't think this ever happened in as simple and straight forward of a way as the article is presenting.
 
Also, for the 10 thousandth time, Marvin getting playing time has little effect on the tank. You want to tank it is all about playing JL3 over Burks. Do that and none of the rest of it matters. You could also just march out sans point guard and play 4 on 5. It would only be slightly more obvious at that point.

Obviously you don't trade Marv for a >25s pick, but if a team like the Mavericks offered a 22nd pick + some short, cheap contract for Marv, that's something you consider.

Hahaha. Re-read my posts man. A few months ago we even got into a conversation with Marv, and I said I'd be okay with trading him. You yourself said that you think it was much too late to trade Marv, as the damage had already been done. And that you were losing faith in Dennis, and that you hoped something would happen at the deadline.
